How would I wire the two position switch in my OTS 50 to use as a ground lift? Currently it's not in use (as per the layout).

Don't do it, it's forbidden in most countries.
If those caps fail, you have wall AC on your chassis and your guitar.
Although it may do wonders for your haircut Grin

Ouch! gotcha...
Ok so that doesn't sound like a good idea at all! Have a situation where I'm playing in a building where thieves actually stole the outside ground wire from the building for the copper. Yeah... While waiting for a resolution (insurance, etc...) in the meantime, causes a lot of outside interference and a LOT of noise in the instruments.
Thanks for the quick rely.

Mr Dumble did a lot of work on Fenders. That "ground switch" is just a remnant of days gone by, when amps had 2 wire power cords.
I kind of wish Nik would get rid of that.....but he knows what he is doing better than I do.
It is probably not the lack of ground that is causing your noise troubles anyway. No doubt you plug into shared circuits with all kinds of crap living ing the AC. You need a dedicated circuit for audio, but that is wishful thinking.
Good Luck
Anyway......you guys can probably find a suitable ground to use in that building.

yeah, don't mess with ground lifts.

I have a brother-in-law that is a foreman for a large construction company and does mostly large multi-story and industrial buildings. He has all kinds of stories about right after roughing out all the electrical and plumbing in a building, thieves coming in and tearing out all the copper. They also don't care what they destroy in process. They have be using security now to watch the buildings. Just something else to raise costs.
