ive heard it. theres a long waiting list. I have a "Rumble MOD" by HAO and it sounds much better IMO. I use it with my OTS as it gives a much different flavor than the OD channel. The pedal is much cleaner and open sounding, and ALOT fatter. it blooms into feedback more easily but it's not great for chords.

Still nothing beats the real thing.

I haven't heard the Ethos, but I've got a Zendrive pedal, which sounds great at the rehersal room through a Hughes & Kettner Reverb Road 100 on a neutral setting. Its a neat substitute, when I can't bring my OTS. Highly recommended.

If you want a "D" style tone in a pedal, the Ethos IS the way to go.

I've heard good things about Ethos, I think a large unit though.   If not playing a Ceriatone and want that Dumble-ish tone, you might want to look at a ZenDrive or Dumkudo pedal, I've played these and they turn an amp into Dumble-ish like amp IMO.

Did some research on the Ethos after seeing this post... Cost new is around 400 USD, waiting list is over a year and just watched one go on EBay for 610 USD (the TLE version). Crazy

BluesFenderManBlues:  I would have to disagree in that it appears you feel that clones are identical or as good - they're not (sorry if I'm reading your post incorrectly).  For some it's a hobby to buy pedals/gear of the highest level, as some want 100% performance, just like buying a CS Fender, could you get a MIM Jimmie Vaighan Strat for $500 USD and pull shitty TexMex pickups for a set of Fralins or Lollars for another $250 and have a very good guitar....yes, will it be as good as a CS model...no.

This is not a negative post to you.

I don't quite understand why one would draw the line between guitars and effects pedals on one side and amps on the other side. Why not clone guitars and effects pedals, when we clone dumble amps

IME its quite easy to clone effects pedals....much easier than cloning difficult and temperamental amps like the Dumble amps.   Huh?

When building overdrive /distortion pedals all you have to be carefull about is selecting and testing various diodes for the clipping section. I do understand if your passion is COLLECTING original pedals, but IMO its quite easy to copy these, I you just want the original sounds. Cool
