I'd like to get a brown faceplate rather than the black one. Does anyone know where to get such an animal?

You could print one off on high gloss photo paper, then have clear lexan over top.  It would likely turn out well.  I did something similar ages ago with a customized PC.  It would be much harder to do on the back though since not all the holes are round.

Have you considered having one made out of wood?

Wood would be cool, you could even "burn in" the indicator text.

Burn it in or CNC it in.  I may do that with mine.   I have the machines to do so why not?

Ask Nik to send you the face plates with just the white printing, without the black backing. Then screen or spray a brown color.

Here is my custom face plate.  Brazilian rosewood with heart and sap wood.   Mother of Pearl border.  Knobs are Black Limba with Satinwood caps and Rosewood dots.  The numbers around the pots have been replaced by green amber and red dyed Box Elder burl.  Now I need to figure out a logo to place on it.   Thinking of Curious George.  You know, the whole "monkey" theme.

Also notice that I will be mounting this upside down, ala Hughes & Kettner.  I made the face plate so that it is all reversed.

Now that's something special.   Shocked
I think the amp like that definitely deserves it.

Well done.

Thanks!  I am having a custom wood cabinet built for it, as well.   As soon as Mercury Magnetics finishes the power tranny, I will be able to test her out and get to some playing.

More pix to follow a things progress.
