Hi Scott:

The Ulbrick Sound Venue 30 Verbovibe 1 x 12 combo (6L6, Class A, Cathode Biased) is a kick ass small to large sized club amp that that REALLY sounds and feels spectacular. SWEET, singing mids, perfect highs, and huge lows. NOT a Dumble clone by any stretch of the imagination, yet eerily reminiscent of that tone, feel, and vibe. Very hard in feel, and very articulate, yet quite "easy" to play at the same time. Quite unique as far as amps I've played to date. A keeper for sure. The 12AXE pedal and the Verbovibe are a match made in heaven, and are (obviously) crafted to work hand in hand. I'm also awaiting the arrival of the Stadium 80 Special head (KT77's) and the matching 2 x 12 low profile cab.
BTW, both Larry Carlton and Robben Ford left Australia ealier this year with a Verbovibe and a 12AXE each. RF is also currently waiting delivery of his Stadium 80 Special head as well. BOTH players also have Dave Ulbrick's 212Lp cabs. RF's Stadium 80 Special is a high powered version. Dave Ulbrick stated he was alsmost deaf after spening 5 hours one afternoon with RF testing his Dumble, the Verbovibe, the Stadium 80, a really nice sounding old Twin Reverb, plus numerous speakers. Dave said it was only fitting that Robben ordered the Stadium 80 head in a high powered version after listening to him play that afternoon. He ordered the high powered version to maintain the headroom he (RF) likes at the HIGH volumes he plays at.

Smiley

PS: Now back to our regular programming and the Ceriatone Overtone Special. Apologies for the commercial break.  Smiley

Hey everybody, if you haven't put your 2 cents in the poll at the top of this thread please do so. The more positive input we have the more likely it is that Nik will change his mind on the Overtone.

I think that bringing this back will be the ultimate slap in the face to those opposers, and will be true competition.  Leo Fender, Jim Marshall, and even Dumble himself all borrowed designs from others.  If somebody can do it at a lower price, then they should be able to do it.

With that being said, think of how many orders there are going to be when the Overtone is released again.  It would be a fair assumption that 30 of the voters will want one, and many others as well.

I would be happy if Nik considered building it only for those truly interested.  In other words - current customers who plead, and, potential customers who beg beg beg  Embarrassed

Maybe it doesn't need to be general knowledge that they're being built.

I may still buy the parts and build it myself as much as I can then get help from a local amp tech.  I really want this amp...hehe

What's that Nik? haha

Bring it back for sure, I bet more people want it than don't want it. Several companies are cloning these amps as well - look at fuchs, two rock, etc....It's not like you're doing anything different, besides selling one at an affordable price. Some people (as in whoever disagreed with the overtone's production)  are probably just still upset because of the whole TW nameplate thing, which you changed anyway. That might sound ridiculous, but I won't go into why. (although, it's already obvious). Just because some people are a bit angry about you making an amp, that shouldn't mean you should stop doing it.

At least make a few for your best tone deprived customers on this forum Wink (I realize that isn't actually true, since we all own Ceriatones, but whatever...haha..)

100% of votes (38 people so far) say "YES" to bringing back the Overtone.
0% say "NO".

Looks like a loud and clear message from all. Grin (here's hoping!)

ScottL makes a lot of claims or are they assumptions? .... I wonder whether Scott has tested/compared a Ceriatone Overtone with "the real deal"? If he has then maybe he should share his finding with us.

I have tested an Overtone, can't say if it is anything like a Dumble, but it rock's. I've just ordered one, if you try ordering one too from Nik, I am quite sure he will build one for you too.

Scott Lerner is a very accomplished authority on all things Dumble.   He has first hand knowledge and experience with most if not all the Dumble voiced amps out there.  If you want that sound it is in your best interest to listen to him.  He certainly speaks with.....um.... confidence...lol.. but he has been chasing this tone for years and has earned the right.   If he says that an amp sounds bad it isn't necessarily "bad" just not in line with the tone he is focused on reproducing. Monster player, too....but sometimes I wish he would just dumb it down a little and play a simple 1,4,5....lol.

Chris, I don't doubt that Scott knows what is talking about, but when he mentions comparing apples to oranges, it conjures up interpretations that one product maybe superior to another. We should all avoid making any such claims unless one has actually done an A/B comparison. I questioned whether he has done this?

Cheers
