Hey everyone!

I just received my TGP Expression earlier this week and I was wondering what you guys are using for speaker cabs and any tidbits you might want to share from your experience. I currently have two Green Beret (Greenback clones) from warehouse guitar speakers.com in a 4x12 cab I built from baltic birch. I also have a Sonic 4x12 with some Celestion G12m70's. I was wondering if any one was using Vintage 30's and what they thought of them. The Sonic is much brighter but the Greenberets have a nice thump and mid range to them but not a ton of defenition. It's probably because I only have 2 in the cab as I'm waiting to order two more and cut the baffle to drop them in. I think the Expression sounds best in the 16 ohm output personally.

Derek

I would put two of each in one cab and try it that way.  If you run it in stereo mode you can A/B the sound difference or wire it so each stereo side has one of each and that is what I would do.  I think the VIN 30 would be fantastic for the express.  But I haven't got my amp from Nik yet so I can only tell you what my Fender super reverb and Dr Z Stangray sound through two different 4X12.  Only you will know when you hear the magic tone.  If you can afford it I would get two Vin 30 and compare betwen all three types.  If you run the cab in a non stereo setup you could have all three types running in it for a fantastic overall sound coverage.  Some speakers bring out the highs, some the mids and others are darking sounding.

Have some fun with a screw gun some weekend and put them in your home made cab (right you built your own cab).
