Just me again, onto the last stage of the wiring on the 18 TMB combo. This is causing me some confusion. On the Sept 07 layout plan it shows the 7 wires. 3 have been taken care of and are in thier rightful positions. The problem lies with the other 4 and the 3 post jacks supplied with the kit when the layout shows a 4 post jack the same as the input jacks. Also the it shows 2 red wires. Could someone please explain to me the routing of these remaining wires? Please? Then I can get on to the cab. The Red Fang arived today. 16 ohm as recommended by Nik. Getting excited about this now !! Tongue

Hhhhhmmmm -
Not sure if I completely understand the question. The out jacks are mostly parallel wiring with the exception of 2 wires from the Out Tranny and 1 wire from the Stand-by I think it is. There is the Trem out, but that does not seem to be your question. Am I remembering this correctly or am I way out of bounds?

Thanks for the response. I'll try to make it clearer as to what I mean. The O/T has 7 wires the red brown and blue have homes but the the other 4 are the cause of my confusion.  The latest layout for the TMB 18 shows 2 red wires comming from the O/T through different holes. I have a black, green, orange, and yellow wires. What I need to know is how are these wires arranged to the 3 post type output jacks (that were supplied in the kit) compared to the 4 post shown on the layout. Or which wires to which post? I am intending to run with a 16 ohm speaker.

  Thanks agin in advance.

Hi NoPrints,
I dug up a pic of the transformers here:
http://www.brown-note.com/kit/
I'm pretty sure the lead you're calling Orange is considered Red by ceriatone although it does look more Orange than the Red leads on the Primary side. That (the red/orange lead) is your 16 ohm tap and should be connected to the "Tip" tab of the phone jack, then jumpered to the "tip" tab of the second phone jack. The Black lead from the transformer is your ground lead and goes to the "shaft" tab of the phone jack as does the green star ground lead. That is also jumpered in parallel to the "shaft" tab of the other phone jack. As long as you're not using an impedance switch, the other leads (green & yellow) should be wire nutted or insulated apart from each other and anything else.
Personally, I prefer to use a 3 position rotary impedance selector switch. I buy them here:
(Halfway down the page)
http://www.hoffmanamps.com/MyStore/perlshop.cgi?ACTION=thispage&thispage=parts7.htm&ORDER_ID=230793486
You can select impedance taps with this to run different or multiple cabs for the ultimate versatility. Hope this helps!

A thousand apologies sahib! NoPrints mentioned the 16 ohm red fang and I was off and running. Also, I was at work and not able to check out my 18 watt Ceriatone kit that is still sitting in it's box. I'm home now and I dug out the switch supplied with the kit. It's an Alpha 12 position switch set up to provide 3 positions W/ 2 poles. I made up this drawing using 1/2 the switch for clarity although you could wire it using the opposite poles. I hope this helps you out Tim:

Exellent !! A zillion thankyous to all concerned.! My q's have been answered in full. I am not running the impedance selector, just a straight 16 0hm direct conection. But if I decided to run with the switch I know where to look now.

  Cheerz, Tim.
