Title: Need a litle help Post by: kjarrime on January 29, 2010, 04:41:04 PM I have got a Clone from ceriatone.
And i have a old crappy speaker who i figured i could try out. and it seem to be 6,8ohm speaker. I just used a multiM to find that out. My amp can take 4 ohm 8 ohmm and 16 ohmm. so i need to find out what i should use? Thanks - Kjartan Már Eyþórsson. - Title: Re: Need a litle help Post by: kjarrime on January 29, 2010, 04:50:20 PM BTW it´s an old guitar speaker from an old amp i had.

Do you mean 6.8 ? If so, that means you have a 8 ohm speaker. You should use the 8 ohm selector for your amplifier. Measuring actual impedance is a lot more complicated and requires more equipment, including atone generator. Generally on a DMM, a 4 ohm speaker will measure around 3.2, a 8 ohm speaker will measure around 6.8 and a 16 ohm speaker will measure around 12.8.
