Title: My JTM45 power indicator is not working Post by: yagoo nana on December 09, 2008, 03:58:50 AM My JTM45 power indicator is no longer working. It is labled 6V, and looks like it has an LED in the housing.

Nik sent me some replacements and I actually changed it out tonight. the issue is that these indicators dont like and can't take a power surge. Nik wrote that he is investigating another design that will not have this issue.
simple enough to change out, drain the filter caps first. I wonder if it can easily be surge protected (by the simple addition of a cap, or something similar).
Title: Re: My JTM45 power indicator is not working Post by: M Fowler on January 01, 2009, 06:41:40 AM Use a 120V lamp wired to the bottom of the power switch with a MOV 130v across the pins for spike protection. Otherwise have a bunch of bulbs handy.

I'm still building the amp, What whould be the correct way to install the LED? In parralel with the heater (if that's true :( no wonder it breaks ) ???
