Title: does the 5f6a bassman need to be biased? Post by: vince on August 29, 2008, 09:41:17 AM I want to get a 5f6a from ceriatone and assemble it on my own. so I want to know if i have to bias the tube of the power section. Is it a difficult job?
thank you, vince Title: Re: does the 5f6a bassman need to be biased? Post by: wyatt on August 29, 2008, 06:49:00 PM Yes, a 5F6 needs to be biased, it uses adjustable fixed bias.
If you can build the amp (part testing and troubleshooting a build is measuring the voltages throughout), then biasing is a piece of cake. Title: Re: does the 5f6a bassman need to be biased? Post by: vince on August 30, 2008, 08:57:13 AM Are you sure?
In the site http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/ (the fender amp guide) for 5f6-a I can read: Bias: Fixed bias, nonadjustable thanks Title: Re: does the 5f6a bassman need to be biased? Post by: bloodedge on August 30, 2008, 02:08:24 PM there are adjustable.
http://ceriatone.com/images/layoutPic/fenderLayout/5F6A-BassmanCeriatone_100508.jpg there is a bias pot. Title: Re: does the 5f6a bassman need to be biased? Post by: M Fowler on November 30, 2008, 07:41:55 AM The original 5F6 amp is fixed biased and many other people have taken that and changed it very easily to adjustable. It is all in what you want to build.
If you get a kit from Nik his will come with adjustable bias. |
