That's it. Vox. Any Vox! An AC4,AC10,AC15,AC30,AC50,AC100,Tube Pathfinder, Pacemaker, Berkely/Cambridge....you get the idea.
Ceriatone now offers 18(EIGHTEEN!) Marshall type amps under the "British" header. Let's see....., how many Vox amps? Oh, none! Really -1 as I understand there used to be an AC30 kit but it was discontinued.
Why Nik? Did it not sell? Was the chassis too complicated? Did Dick Denny spit in your soup/ the Beatles beat you up when you were young?
O.K., just kidding around, but seriously I can't believe Ceriatone does not offer one kit from one of the most famous amp manufacturers in the world! C'mon Nik. Throw us Vox guys a bone.

An AC50................

or a Berkeley............

or anything with reverb........(princeton)

Rant over, thanks for puttin' up with me. Grin

It's darn complicated, too many wires it makes my head spin!  Chair Dance

Heh...

Rock It is quite AC30ish, DZ30 too..

Not sure...did spend a lot of time with the layout and proto....my guys wont like me if they have to do this amp! Smiley

Just offer it as a kit only. Your people would be happy and anyone who wants one bad enough could still have a real AC30 for less $$$!
I really think you should consider offering an AC50 kit. It would be a great alternative to the Marshall kits and it is a much simpler circuit than the AC30!

+1 for this.

Vax AC30 and Fender AB763 are the 2 glaring holes in the Ceriatone product lineup...

AC50 please!  Tube rectified version, or maybe with a switch to a SS option.

Nobody is making clones of the AC50, but there are tons people making knock-offs of the AC30, I think it would be a good niche.

+1000 on the AC50. If Nik offered this amp I would buy it in a heartbeat! I can't believe no one makes a clone of what seems like such a simple circuit. Maybe the 2 piece chassis' are too difficult to make?

While it doesn't give you all the options of a true AC30, you can take Nik's Matchless offerings, lower the filter values, change a few component values and have an amp that is exact to both the late '50's Vox EF86 pentode preamp and the top boost 12AX7 preamp.  The Matchless is 90+% identical to the Vox, it's just a little stiffer, which is easy to fix, I mean they are kits, just change the parts out.  You need an '50's AC15, mod the Creme Brulee, AC30 with no trem, the DC30, a '60's AC15 with the triode EF86 preamp, well that can be done to an Creme Brulee as well.

I was looking for an AC30 clone to build too, I just love the AC30.  But the DC30 goes so close that it's the one I'm buying later this week.

When thinking about it, the DC30 clone with the choice between the EF86 and 12AX7 combined with half power switching and a master volume.  The versatility of the DC30 would have probably swayed me from building an AC30 clone anyway.

After I finish the DC30, if Nik offered an AC30 kit I don't think I'd be that interested.  For that classic rock tone that I'm after my next choice would be the 18Watt TMB.  These 2 amps will cover my love of early British rock and blues.

I must admit that I may also be wanting a Fender Deluxe and a Bassman clone too, but they are further down the list of priorities.

Cheers,

Crusty
