Title: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: ampkits on July 04, 2010, 06:23:42 PM Hi,
I am wondering if ppl would be interested in one of these small things? I have drawn something even smaller / more portable. Still handwired, using turret boards. I am trying to price it so it's less than the 450 price tag the TTs have, even when shipped. Thanks! Nik Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: tubeholic on July 06, 2010, 09:13:51 PM Hey Nik, If you give it some more headroom, that'll be a winner!
I just remembered, as we're talking toaster size amplifiers, how about something like that burriss bluesman amp? ;) Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: wizard_23 on September 08, 2010, 12:12:55 AM This would be very cool Nik. I've got a JCM 800 2204 from you that is incredible, but it'd be great to have something small and portable that I can take on public transport to rehearsals.

Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: AdrianJ on January 30, 2011, 09:47:36 PM I think you'd have a lot of interest in this - personally I think you should go for the metal cage type cabinet too as it's pretty easy to fit etc and looks cool!!
Are you thinking something with a Brit or USA voicing? A TT sized 6L6 amp would get my vote at the price you're talking about..!! Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: Mars on March 16, 2011, 03:04:52 PM Would this have a similar sound to an Orange amp, or just similar in size?
I would love to get an Orange sounding, low-watt Ceriatone amp for that kind of price. Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: ampkits on March 26, 2011, 08:27:17 PM I am drawing up 15W OTS type amp now (EL84s) it wont have the 3 voicing switch in front though (get the regular OTS for those! :)) But it'd have channel switching etc. yeah, metal cage would be the way. I am excited. Well, we'll see. I like drawing it out, it's really relaxing. Thanks! nik Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: plasticvonaband on March 28, 2011, 10:25:57 PM sounds like an awesome idea, nik! any chance of having different tone stack options, not switchable, but maybe offering different versions of the mini ots, liek say, a bluesmaster tonestack, or an HRM tonestack, etc? or maybe a single 6V6 version?
i like this idea alot! Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT?? Post by: ampkits on March 31, 2011, 09:16:49 PM Hi,
Sure thing, we can try to have the same range as the regular OTS. Perhaps, we release just 1 first, ie the regular OTS preamp, with 15W power. These would still take abt same time to make (12-15hrs), so not sure abt releasing the whole gamut at the same time. Perhaps would be best if we do a batch of 20 amps in a go? As for price point, I see the mass produced, PCB, amps have inched up a bit to 575-600. I am trying to keep it within this range, plus a bit more for shipment. All hand wired, all made with same love as the other amps, people! :) On a side note - I made some renovation to my house, and saw these beautiful laminated boards. They hold up quite well to abuse and heat. Hmm...maybe flat-pack type of cabinet? Thanks! nik Title: Re: Something like the Orange TT??
