Title: Small '50s/'60s style amps Post by: Emiel on August 29, 2010, 03:39:20 PM Hi,
What about some remakes of small '50s and '60s tube amps? Say 20 watt max. I think the market would love it. Just a suggestion from my side. The American store 'Fretted America' recently build a batch of a Magnatone 214 'Tone Master' which go for insane high prices (1600 dollars). Thanks to a guy now famous on Youtube (Phil X) the original amps are really sought after. And I have to say the amp sounds great on the videos I've seen (not just the ones by Phil X). Why not a affortable Ceriatone version which sounds as good ;) Or a Supro style amp? People, join in. What do you think? Any suggestions? Cheers, Emiel Title: Re: Small '50s/'60s style amps Post by: cmoore on August 30, 2010, 12:43:53 AM Absolutely -
Nothing specific, but any and all of them. Ampeg, Magnatone, Rickenbacker, etc. Offered as a head and/or a 1x12. There are WAY more people recording today than there were in the 1960's-1970's (or the 1990's for that matter). The more 20 watt and under the better; as far as I am concerned. Good Post Emiel Title: Re: Small '50s/'60s style amps Post by: JD0x0 on August 31, 2010, 07:58:25 PM Nik has a few 50's 60's amps already but im definatly on board with some of the more rare amps ie. rickenbacker gretsch etc
