Title: Overtone: tube buffered effects loop option
Post by: yosemitespam on January 14, 2010, 01:20:36 AM
Easy way to finally slay the Dumbleator/Kleinulator dragon, once and for all.

sorry to put you down man but i doubt that will happen for 2 reasons,
1 the Dildo-lator will be coming out within a month and
2 it would be too hard to impliment as most ODS's are already pretty cramped on the inside

How does Boogie make a single space rack unit with 5 12AX7s with speaker emulation and tube buffered stereo returns?

I've got a Mark IV  with a tube buffered effects loop too. Boogie  has been doing that since the 1970s. They certainly had their tube buffered act together by the time the Mark IIC+ came out, in 1985.  No Randall-ulator needed!

Geez, the Kleinulator is an 8 pin op-amp chip. Somehow I think there'd be space for it.

yep, also the kleinulator isnt tube, and the tube version coming out will take up more space

Perhaps some of the miniature tubes (6205)  might save some space over a 12AX7?

Any updates on Nik's tube D-lator?

RedPlate amps  come with tube buffered effects loops, in very small chassis. It is possible to get a loop in there.  The new Zingaro from Glaswerks also has a tube buffered loop.

Hi Erwin,

Yes I saw it a couple of days ago.

It looks about as good and "pro" as any I've seen. $160 for the kit is absolutely fantastic. Kudos to Nik for slaying the tube loop dragon at a most affordable price.

I did notice the Glaswerks Matchbox has 2 12AX7s.  It ought to for $700.

I still want Nik to build various OTS preamps. He's not off the hook just yet........
