A drop-in, properly handwired amp to replace the cheap internals of the new Class 5 would go down a treat!

Even a kit to upgrade the internals would be nice.

heh, nice point

I took mine back, it was so rattly
the 2 others in the store were worse still

I'd assume this is too new a model for Nik

+1 The tonestack bypass should make it very marshall-esque. Or even better mod a champ to a 5 watt marshall

make the class 5 drop in 10 or 12 watts and it'd be perfect... just a nudge more headroom  Grin

Further to my earlier point a few more!

It's neither a bedroom nor gigging amp - to loud to crank in a house, no headroom for gigging.

Form factor however is great  Grin

At design stage initial specs were apparently 6V6 (too fender) or EL34 but (transformer) costs would take beyond price point.

I don't need a huge amp. I want something the class 5 size. But with more headroom. An EL34 goodness, not EL84 buzziness. 18w is too loud for me.

tele caster and JD0x0 - Yes, a Champ is great, but I'm referring to something to drop straight into a Class 5 amp to replace what's already there.

Too late now, I sold the Class 5, for exactly the reasons jonnymags says.  Smiley
