Title: dedicated power amp of some sort? Post by: attackdecay on November 01, 2007, 02:17:25 AM I just got a mesa studio preamp that i'm really happy with, but need a power amp...
I was thinking it could be cool to offer some type of rack power amp kit, something in the '20/20' or '50/50' type categories..... or even 18/18 ;] i thought perhaps either a dual 'expression' type power amp, or, more appropriate for myself, a lightning style, with two lightning style output's... just a thought. billy Title: Re: dedicated power amp of some sort? I don't have any rack gear, but I think the mesa 2:90 has a been a very popular power amp in that category of product. The groove tube power amp was another interesting one. You could have one side with 6L6's and another with EL34's and switch between them I think. The Groove tube Trio preamp was a really nice sounding preamp too. I used it with a Mesa formula and a Soldano SP-77. Sounded great with both preamps and my old Avatar 2x12 with Texas Heats. |
