A special request from Nik to make a 'Slow dancing in a burning room' clips.

Fender Strat > Boss Chromatic Tuner > Boss Ru-3 Loop station > SSS

There are two clips in this video.

No 1. was shot with iPhone 4s camera.

No 2. Then tried to redo again with microphone.

I only had the one mic at the time but it really doesn't capture the tone of this amp. There is a certain magic to these beauties that despite my best efforts - i couldn't get recorded.

If i had to describe it, i would say its like a two rock sterling sig, but a bit more raw.

One thing to note on JM's tone is that his tone is a combination of an SSS and his Sig amp, which is almost the same except with a darker voicing. it is the combination of the two that make his sound... that and almost 2 decades of practice!!!!

anyway, i only did one take on these (didnt have time to warm up or anything) but it should help you get an idea of the sound at least... just try ignore the playing haha

Great... Now you did it... Can you tell me, how the hell I am supposed to afford that thing?

Someone wants a kidney?   Grin

(Great clip! What would now interest me is: How does it differ soundwise from a regular OTS with the same cab?)

From what I can get from the data I have collected, the SSS is basically a skyline EQ, no OD section is used, step filters, effects loop, two tube reverb into a Fender Twin Reverb power section.  Crystal clean amp that when you foot switch the FET in you get OD.  It closely mirrors the Dumble Overdrive Reverb.

Has anyone else had an SSS shipped to them? I'm on the list and wondering how quickly Nik is getting them out the door.

I'm am very interested in this amp!! An SSS to run my custom made Strat through would be awesome.

One question though Nik,
Do you know if any of the manufactures (like Gabkits) who make cabinets to hold your chassis will be offering custom stuff for the SSS?

I would love to have one of these in a 1x12 combo like the early serial # SSS owned by Henry Kaiser!

Matt,

Taylor Cox at www.Amplifiednation.com can make you a Dumble combo cab.  I have four of his head cabs.

http://www.amplifiednation.com/D-Style%20Cabs.htm

Also Anthony makes the cabs Gabi sells on Gabkits and if you need a custom cab Anthony and Gabi will get back to you with a reasonable quote.

Azlin,
Are the Reverb Tanks being shipped with the head unit as well?

here's another one
