Title: Ceriatone AC 30 TB
Post by: Johnhenry on December 02, 2007, 08:09:48 PM
I bought this as is from a friend, it had a few issue's which were easily fixed, the amp has JJ  tube's and a 5AR4 recitifier,
it's a very Quite amp, has Super tone, and is very loud, i've yet to get a 2X12 speaker cab but will in the near future. for now i've been useing a 4X12 marshall.
The normall Cha. is Dark and fat sounding with a Strat, The TB cha. is outstanding with P-90's or Humbucker's, the amp love's pedal's, I can say this, the Ceriatone amp is a great buy for the money. will be adding some more to my Wish List,

John,

  Hi!

  Cool! Thats great man!

Was this a problem with the preamp tubes? Yeah, we have switched all to Tungsol 12AX7s now. What a shame for the JJ ECC83s..

Thanks!

Nik

I'd love to build an ac30. I think I going for the 1963 ac30/6 (top boost) circuit, but with the ef86 from the earlier ac30/4 circuit. that would be the best of both worlds

how is it different from the DC-30?

different trannies - more inefficient OT = less bandwith. less filtering. tremolo etc

hmm... sounds nice.  If Nik had an AC15 of AC30 kit, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
