Anyone try 5881's? I know they aren't supposed to handle as much current as KTs'.

Let the JTM-45 run for about an hour wothout a speaker load. Didn't realize the standby was on. It was hot (OT was just warm) Cooled her down and fired her back up. Tone sounds OK, volume seems OK, there is a lot of Static/noise though that I don't reacall hearing before (new amp). I can roll some it off with the tone control on the guitar.

I was going to try another set of power tubes but all I have is a set of NOS Genalax and I'm not going to risk those.

Just picked up a JTM-45. Has a stock PT, a Heyboer 8113 OT, and a MM choke. Would chaning the PT to a Heyboer make a noticable difference in tone? How about replacing both with MM's? Worth the cash? Thanks.

I have a 2 year old factory built (Nik) 18 watter. Red tolex, heritage cab, and Red Fang Alnico speaker. It has never left the house. Save $300.00 and the wait. In L.A. and ready to rock. USD$795.00

10  British Style / 18 Watt / No Change when jumping channels on: December 18, 2008, 04:30:38 PM
New guy. I have an 18 watter that I get no difference in sound by jumping the channels. Independantly, both channels work fine. Any thoughts on where to start looking? Thanks, Mike.
