You did a good job on your Express.

That 820R is a grid blocker into next stage.  A guy can use a variety of values.  This something Ken Fischer added to Liverpool and Express amps to help in stability on amps that needed it.  Not just a standard design, only if needed.  I like to add that my builds.

Stephan, thanks for the information on the BM HRM it helps.

I'll keep burning the amp in for awhile.

I'm right in the middle of building a non Ceriatone #183 in a CE chassis, the EL34's of the #183 will be quite different from the BM HRM so I'm anxious to compare these two circuits.

Mark

183 and the BM are really different beasts, but they have similar power sections, I think you'll really dig the BM though, lots of Low end content.

Here's the checklist I'd run through on your BM and see how you dig it:

The HRM trimmers in the BM are finicky to say the least (much like all HRM's in nature) , if I were you I'd get in there and try theses settings,

Bass: 200k
Middle: 9K
Treble: 125k

Then, adjust the PI with a matched 12ax7 ( I dig Long plates )
And a short plate in V1 & V2 (Mullard or Amperex short plates sound killer)

And set the OD Trigger at around 27.4k

Put on some Sonny landreth with his Tan Dumble and see if it sounds close.

Greg thanks for the advice I'll give it a try as soon as I stop building amps.  LOL

100w Bluesmaster HRM built by Ceriatone.  Running it sans cabinet because the Sourmash cabinet does not fit the chassis.  They forgot to allow for the side screw heads.  No response from Sourmash either.  Ordering a new cabinet from Henry.

Ran the BM HRM through a EVM12L and this amp has clean all day long.  The OD is fizzy so I need to work on that and see I need to adjust the HRM trimmers as the OD trimmer sounds best down low with volume up.

Still messing around before I can post anymore.

Matt,

Taylor Cox at www.Amplifiednation.com can make you a Dumble combo cab.  I have four of his head cabs.

Also Anthony makes the cabs Gabi sells on Gabkits and if you need a custom cab Anthony and Gabi will get back to you with a reasonable quote.

From what I can get from the data I have collected, the SSS is basically a skyline EQ, no OD section is used, step filters, effects loop, two tube reverb into a Fender Twin Reverb power section.  Crystal clean amp that when you foot switch the FET in you get OD.  It closely mirrors the Dumble Overdrive Reverb.

Nik and Adi great photos and I bet it was great to hear Nicky playing at Ceriatone World Headquarters Grin

Regarding the SSS I want to bolt my own together but I suppose that will not be possible without being an authorized dealer?

It's fun to see the amp coming together.

Need schematic and layout so we can follow along Grin

Nik,

Sexy is right with pristine cleans, reverb mixed in, set the step filters, and your making sweet music with that amp.

Greg that will be a great build.

I ended up trading my SSS chassis and faceplate to Taylor C. for a head cabinet.  Now I wish I had it back, oh well.
