31  Ceriatone / Overtone / FET input on: September 04, 2011, 08:43:40 PM
So I'm starting to really like the FET, anyone tried using an a/b box to switch between the two?
I don't think it would work with both together but the FET has a really nice growl to it.

Ok so I checked the OD trimmer and it was at 9 o'clock. I brought it up to 12 and it sounds much better.
It seamed like I lost a bit of gain when I installed the 65's, nor sure why maybe because I had a 15 watt alnico blue and a 25 watt GB
so they were breaking up earlier, so maybe bringing up the OD evened things out. She screams now. I just found a used Two Rock 1x12
Sig cab so that will much easier to take to gigs, also it's much deeper then the Bogner Goldfinger cab so I will get more low end thump out of it.

I have a bone stock 74 Super Lead 100 and a modded 74 Super Lead and a modded 78 JMP in white tolex
but they are pretty loud so I'm going to do a dual setup with my Bogner Goldfinger, it's 45 watts and can
sound like allot of different amps.

Thanks so much for your help I really appreciate it. Yeah I really love this amp, the funny thing is I have some of the best amps
made Bogners, vintage Marshall's and I've owned 3 Fuch's and this is the best amp I've ever owned.
It matches up with my playing style really well and I love the overdrive tone it's so clean and responsive to pick attack.
I'm selling off a bunch of amps and will probably get another one maybe an HRM as a backup.
It's funny even though I snagged some vintage 65's I think the Green Back Alnico blue sounds really good.

No I was not going to try an adjust through the hole, I would be blind. I played out last night and the amp
had plenty of overdrive, I was actually backing down the OD as I we were  playing because there was so much OD.
I think I'm just going to leave it alone, it sounds great as it is. The cool thing was that I  was able to use the Glaswerks Matchbox
as kind of a master vollume so I could crank up the master on the amp a bit to fatten up the sound then back down the overall volume with
the send & return. I got allot of compliments on the amp. Now I'm just waiting on the speakers, I picked up a set of 80's G12-65's
for $200.00 of of the Gear Page and they should be here any day. For now I'm using a Green Back and a Alnico Blue in a Bogner Goldfinger
semi open 2x12. It actually sound really good but I think the 65's are better suited for this amp.

11 o'clock is the stock factory setting right? Mine has a little hole on the back of the amp but I think it should to have a trimmer
there, I would feel weird feeding a screw driver through there.

So I'm thinking of opening up my OTS and dialing in some more overdrive with the trimmer.
Does it adjust clockwise for more overdrive and counter clockwise for less?
Also will it fatten up the sound as you increase the OD?
38  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Verbrator: Just as good as kleinulator or C-lator? on: August 28, 2011, 02:04:05 AM
I ended up with a Glaswerks Match Box Stereo, it also has 2 12Ax7's. I didn't really want a rack device but this thing is  really built well
and I like the added benefit of the stereo out. I was lucky to find a used one so I didn't have to wait 4 weeks.
Glaswerks also has a killer Reverb version as well but it's pretty expensive and there is the 4 week waiting time.
I will definitely pickup his reverb unit down the line but at least I can use the loop while I'm waiting.
One thing I did notice about the Fuchs for the 15 minutes that it actually functioned  is that just having it in the loop
really added a richness to the tone, and this was in Bogner Shiva. I was pretty bummed when it stopped working because the Shiva never
sounded as good as it did when the Verbrator was in the loop. I'm going to try the Glaswerks in my Goldfinger while I'm waiting for my OTS to arrive on Monday.

The first one I bought did nothing but make a weird swooshing noise. You couldn't hear the reverb at all.
So I sent it back to the seller for a refund. I bought another one, it seamed to work for about 5 or 10 minutes and then
nothing very faint reverb in the back ground. This one was more difficult to return and it got ugly with Fuch's.
Anyway I'm in the market for one now myself because I just bought a OTS and I'm not even considering the Fuch's
product. They were really rude and horrible to deal with. I'm going for the Kleinulator or C ulator.

I owned 2 of them and both of them died on me, I would avoid them and look to the Kleinulator or Quinn Amps version
