Nik has talked about moving into high gain territory in order to expand his product line.

What kind of amps would you like to see?

Please vote AND tell us why.

That's a tough one, you'd really have to ask a Dumble owner. Have you tried posting over at The Gear Page?

Hey
I'm kinda new to the forum here. Here is a quick run through of the cab for my TGP Expression. I have the half power switch and external bias along with the PI tail resistor toggle and PPIMV. The cab was built by John. Here is his website. This was his first cab build also and we're working on a couple different skin options for the chassis. Maybe from Bloodwood or some of the Maple. I haven't given it a name yet so suggestions welcome!  http://www.woodman13.etsy.com/

Peace,
Derek

That cab is gorgeous.

Yep, it started doing the typical "valve implosion...spittin, fartin, and burpin" during rehearsal last night.  It was sounding and performing sooo.. good, too.  Kind of like a racecar just before it blows an engine. Grin

Oh well, back to the bench for a little TLC.

It's strange.  I've had my old Super Reverb, a Traynor ycv40wr and my Dlite have troubles in the past month or so....now the Overtone.  Hmmmm.....

No worries though.

Do you live in an area with higher than normal current ? I live in Denmark Europe, where we tend to have fairly stable current around 230 VAC, but higher at night 235 and down to 218 in office hours. High sparks on the grid, might kill an amp.

Normally, you don't have to care about this or even notice it, but time and again you might notice, that more than a couple of your light bulbs are failing within the same week...this phenomon is often due to over-current on the grid.
What can you do about it Huh?? Buy a 230 or 110 filter a connect it between your amp and the wall socket.

OR BUY BETTER TUBES ;-)

This was my initial thought too.

Guys-

I found upping the snubber caps to 330pf definitely smoothed out the OD channel- however, I could only get Wima's at that value from my local electrical store- I'm assuming they're poly-propylene (pardon my ignorance) - ceramic's are the stock caps's I removed...

any opinions on ceramic vs poly-propylene tone/reliability etc...etc...?

Good question, I'm interested to hear what those in the know have to say.

Nice Marin,

Ive been playing my Overtone through the Greenbacks in my Marshall Bluesbreaker while Im in the process of building a speaker cab for the Overtone. I found that they were great for 'aggressive' overdrive sounds but a little to thin and harsh for cleans. Was this your experience too?

39  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How Fender can the OTS get? on: June 23, 2008, 02:40:07 AM
If you want Fender get a Fender. The overtone has nice cleans but more mids and lows than a Fender. Definitely more sustain than any Fender I've played. If you really want Fender the overtone is not for you.

Ive got a Marshall Bluesbreaker alongside mine. Depends what you play I suppose. If you want a Marshall sound youll want a Marshall because the OTS just wont get there, but if you tend to stick with Fender type sounds then perhaps get something that does Fender better, something with a really nice tube reverb perhaps, like the Deluxe Reverb Reissue.
