Nik says my OTS is shipping on Friday.  Chair Dance  Anyone have any idea how long it takes to ship from Nik to the US?

Nik told me that my Ceriatone would be ship this week but I have no news from him...

My ampli was supposed to be sent after 9 weeks, but now I'm about 11 and a half and still no Overtone.  Undecided Cry
34  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Atipical Overtone use and sample inside... on: June 24, 2008, 08:09:58 PM
Hi to all of you
new here, but I own a fantastic Overtone...
It's a 100version, custom wired form Nik when the 100w version was not even available, customized with trannies wounded on my specs here in Italy...
What you are going to listen is a HIGHLY ATIPICAL use for this amp, but I SWEAR YOU on what I've got of most treasurable and loved that is STRICTLY an overtone without any booster in front.
Only and I repeat, ONLY a Boss Ge7 in loop, use to replicate the classic "V" eq seen on most mesa mark amp...
it's ALL the amp's gain and an ibanez rg1527 with a EVO7 pickup in the bridge...
I know that its hard to believe, but it's true...
here's the link

That doesn't suprise me since I know that Mesa Mark I and Overdrive special are not so diffrent and since I've seen the SPM's clip who make some High Gain sample of the Overtone.

Who was talking about the versatility of the overtone  Grin Grin  Wink ?

Nice Clip and nice playing Wink

A DT's fan I presume ^^ !

You should listen to spm72 on You Tube. His clip for the Certiatone Overtone Special Clean Test is the closest thing I have heard to the Two Rock Mayer sound. Maybe someone can upload it -It is killer!!!!   Chair Dance

I promise I will make some sample after I'll receive my Overtone (Nik told me that it should be sent next week).

I also buy the Overtone with the wish that he could make some great blackface or "Two-Rock" cleans sounds.

The samples which convince me to buy the overtone were the SPM's ones (who shows different side of that amp !) and a sample called "Arizona" from a "Thegearpage"'s guy who have a great clean tone.

I hope I did the right choice.

For now I'm trying to find the right speaker choice, for instance I have an old 4x12 Marshall cabinet loaded with old G12-65 but I will sell it soon.

I'm thinking right now for a G1265 RI with a Jensen NeoSpeaker in a 2x12 Open back but, I can't test theses speaker, It's quite difficult to know how they will sound like with the Overtone.

JohnE,

It's very very nice but I'm living in france, and I think the shipping cost will be a little bit important for a footswitch ! Anyway thanks it's very nice.

I will receive my Overtone in one week or two, for now, it's nothing compared to the 9 weeks passed !

I promise, I will make some mayerish sample.

38  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Challenge to owners on: June 13, 2008, 02:26:40 PM
I'm a Mayer fan, and I will receive my Overtone in one or two week (unfortunately the footswitch are out of stock so i didn't receive my overtone yet).

If I find something to record my amp I will post some samples with some Mayer's riff.

Yeah look tasty.

I'm waiting for my Overtone, should arrive in 1 or 2 weeks (maybe one weeks more as nik says (delayed Cry)

I hope 50W will be enought for me (blues/rock/pop band with bass, drums, organ an a singer).

I play in a band with the same format. We rehearse in an insulated 24 x 36 metal building. I can't get the 50W OTS above 1.5  Volume and Master, with (Bright, Deep & Rock, Overdrive on, Pre-amp boost off) without blowing everybody out the door. At a fairly large club with a raised stage and about a 200 person capacity I was able to crank it up to 3 (after the place was full). I have taken to leaving all the switches off(Overdrive on), Cranking the Volume to 5 with the master at 2 (overdrive on), and use the pre-amp boost switch or Full Drive 2 as needed.

It is inconceivable to me as to why any one needs a 100W amp (except for their own enjoyment?Huh?). An 18W amp miked to the PA is good enough for just about anything.   I used to play a cranked Twin Reverb, now I can't figured out how that volume level was tolerated back then.

100W are here for clean head room, not to be crancked up !

Don't think you'll have any problems there, they have plenty of headroom I reckon.

Thanks

I'm wondering if the 50W version can be mod to the 100W version with few mods ? (hmm maybe the OT can't be used with 4 6L6).

43  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: A Vertical 2x12 for the Overtone (schematics request) and Speaker Choice on: May 20, 2008, 07:18:01 AM
I was thinking about the same speaker.

My choice was between G12-65 and Red White & Blues, I think I will try those eminence !

I ask TubeTown in Germany (I'm french), and I ask them if they can make me a Two Rock type of cabinet.

They say yes but they need the schematic.

At this time this greatl user of the "guitariste.com" forum (a french forum) is making the schematics of the Two Rock Cabinet for me.

This guy has already made a custom order to Tubetown for a replica of the Matchless Combo Cabinet for his Ceriatone DC-30 and the result is just great  Grin !

Check out => http://img186.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0668lq1.jpg

The principal size of the Two Rock Cabinet is on their website (why I did not think of it earlier?) I give you the plans dices that possible if you want it !

After I got this plan, I can have a estimation from Tube Town, and if it's OK, I shoul order it !
44  Ceriatone / Overtone / A Vertical 2x12 for the Overtone (schematics request) and Speaker Choice on: May 19, 2008, 03:53:59 PM
Hello everyone,

It's my first post (and topic !) on the ceriatone forum.

I'm currently waiting for a Overtone Special too (should come in 2 weeks I hope).

I'm actually looking for a 2x12 vertical speaker cabinet for the Overtone.

I've check a lot of builder here in Europe but there is nothing, and Two Rock, Fuchs etc are too much expensive for me.

I'm now looking for plan and schematics of a vertical 2x12 Two Rock type like this one :

or this one

If you can help to choose the best speaker for my utilisation of the Overtone it would be great.

I'm lookin for John Mayerish tone, with warm and sparkle fenderish clean, and smooth lead and I'm mainly using Stratocasters.

Thanks a lot

Regards

Nathan
