1  Community / Classifieds / WTS Kleinulator (Jakarta but will ship anywhere) on: August 31, 2013, 03:54:28 AM
Hi good Ceriatone type people,
Selling my Kleinulator. Barely used and not seeing the light of day so better I offload to someone who will use it. It's as new. Nik is selling for USD125, so I am looking for USD100 or thereabouts. Happy to ship anywhere at your cost. I''ll be sure to do a decent packing job. I trade a lot of gear so used to the routine. I can take PayPal or a bank transfer. Ping me on stephen.c.dodgson at gmail if interested. No reasonable offer refused.
2  British Style / 18 Watt / Re: How to use same effects on both effect loops with a LineSelector on: December 09, 2012, 10:50:35 AM
I am trying to do the same. As I just posted elsewhere here, it may be you also need a C'lator in the loop to prevent signal loss and keep the tone. Actually the C'lator changes the tone slightly, in a good way, and its got enough flexibility to shape it how you want. A lot will depend on the FX you are using. However this has not helped me fix the problem of using my fx in the loop across both channels, and also use the amp as a 2 channel amp (i.e. not combine the 2 channels which is one solution). I am no whizz technically, it seems to me I need some kind of patch box which can receive both the send signals from Channel 1 and 2, and merge those into a mixed send, and then take the return signal, and split them and send them back to the 2 effects loops, all without losing signal strength (although the C'lator might give enough boost to mean this is not necessary). if anyone knows the solution here, without buying a $300 box of magic, please share! I live in Indonesia so difficult/expensive to get gear here - except Ceriatone of course! KL is close by, thank goodness..

Hi guys,
I have been following this topic ever since I got my Dizzy. I have complicated life by adding a C'lator which sounds just great. However I am struggling to get a good result following the diagram posted here. When I run the C'lator into the clean channel, with my time based effects through it, it's whisper quiet and sounds awesome. However when I try to share the time based effects across the 2 FX loops, using the the Boss line selector as per your sketch, I get a lot of hum, even with the levels turned down to almost zero. I get the desired result, i.e. my time based effects are working on both channels of the amp, but its too noisy to be a real solution. Any other ideas how I can share my time based effects/C'lator across both FX loops? BTW I am using an A/B box at the front of the amp to choose between Channel 1 and 2. Cheers from Jakarta.
4  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: Running a piezo and regular PUP output through the 2 channels? on: March 30, 2012, 12:14:28 PM
Hi,
Thanks for this. I have also come up with a solution for my gigs, I am now playing an Epi LP with piezo, and I run the piezo into the low gain input in channel 1, and the output from the regular pups through my pedals into the high gain input in channel 1, and then my Tele which is set up with Keef tuning into channel 2. So with the LP I have huge choice of tones, from almost acoustic (piezo only) to all my different tones from the FX/regular pups, to mixing the two, OR I put that down and pick up the Tele and play the open G tuning with minimal down time.
I also put an EQ pedal into the loop of channel 1. I will do same for channel 2 once I get another  cable made.

I next will add a switch as per yours so I can quickly flick between piezo/regular/mix without having to mess with the volume pots.

I just wish I had more time to really tweak the tones, but hey thats life.

Cheers

Hi there. I guess you've probably given up on this post being replied to but here goes.  I have a Godin LGX which has three outputs. One normal, one for the piezo only and one that can be used to blend the two.  I used the standard connection into channel one and used the blended output into the second channel.  I set the controls on the guitar so there's no piezo being blended with the normal pickup signal.  In other words I have two outputs directly from the guitar which are exactly the same.  It saved me having to buy/build an A/B box!!

Wow -- those ares some beautiful cabs.
Yes I am very happy with what I see so far, hope the courier delivers it safe and sound tomorrow as planned. Douglas is a class act. Anyone living in Indonesia thinking of getting a Ceriatone should contact him. He's also the agent for Weber speakers. Cant speak highly enough of him.

I had Douglas Eaton in Bali build me a head cabinet for my DC30 and a 2x12 speaker cabinet with 2 Webers (Silver Bell & Blue Dog). Photos as attached. Currently on a truck from Bali to Jakarta hope to get Monday. Looking forward to checking out the new rig. Cheers
7  Muchless / DC 30 / Running a piezo and regular PUP output through the 2 channels? on: November 07, 2011, 05:50:28 AM
Hi guys,
I am sitting here in Jakarta 2 days away from my DC30 arriving, had Nik ship it to Douglas Eaton in Bali who has built me a head cabinet and a separate 2x12 speaker cab for maximum flexibility. Even at 40+ it feels like Xmas Day is close...been a long wait but I am sure will be worth it.
Anyway..I saw in an old thread someone talking about blending output from a piezo and a regular PUP through the 2 channels on a DC30. I sometimes use a Parker with dual output but always ran the piezo either through the PA or though a keyboard amp. I just wonder if other people are doing this and can you get a decent sound like this, as I have always believed piezos sound crap through a guitar amp? I would try this at home but the amp aint here and curious. I was close to canabalising an old Trace Elliott combo I have here, replacing the amp with a keyboard amp and keeping the speaker/cab, but that obviously means lugging 2 amps to every gig (often I cant run the piezo through the PA as we often get given crappy PAs with not enough channels to support everyone..)
All feedback gratefully received
