Gday all, finished my ceriatone tweed deluxe a few weeks ago now, didnt really get chance to try it out till this week.
When testing I found when i was using input 1 on the instrument channel and turned the volume all the way up I started to get strange noises, its a high pitched noise like tuning a radio (between 10 and 11 on the volume knob)

Also the volume seems to max out once I get to about 2 on the control, this fault occurs on both inputs on both channels. I discovered tonight (by accident) if I have the volume maxed out on the channel I am not using neither of these problems arise?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the channel not being used should not have any effect on the other?

thanks in advance

Started building the new 5E3 ceriatone this weekend, realised that I will need to bias the tubes after its complete. When I built the JTM I fitted a 1ohm resistor between pins 1 and 8 then down to earth, then with the KT66's in place measured the voltage at pin 8 when the amp was idle, because the resistor is 1 ohm the voltage reading is the same as the current.

My question is can I do something similar with the 5E3 valves (6V6)

Thanks
