hi folks,

..what about a blackface-alike amp..?

it's certainly a "classic" amp & with the quality from ceriatone that could be very intersting.

what do you think?

cheers,

martin
3  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / Re: how "close" are the fender-like amps on the originals? on: March 24, 2008, 07:20:40 PM
There are a few youtube clips for the 5E3 @ the ceriatone site. Check the soundclips section.

yes that's true - but there are no soundclips of the other american-like amps.

so my question remains constant: are the ceriatone amps "close" to the fender originals?

because if so, I can check the originals in order to know in what directions the ceriatone amps sound.

hi folks,

unfortunately there are no soundclips from all the amps of ceriatone's american-alike amps online.

so my question is: how close are the ceriatone amps on the originals from fender?

are they directly comparable anyway (I don't doubt the quality of the ceriatone models, I mean it more sound-wise).

thanks,

martin

..hmmm... ok.

what are the "corresponding models" from f*nder for the ceriatone-models anyway, ie. for what does the ceriatone "super amp" (and all other models) stand for?

that would help defenitly.

thanks,

martin
7  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / 5e3 tweed deluxe - stevie ray vaughan sound ? on: March 16, 2008, 06:40:39 PM
hi folks,

I've heard some clips of the 5e3, but well - the audio quality is quite compressed, plus I don't know the fender line of amps too much, so here's my question:

does the 5e3 delivers that "steve ray vaughan"-type of sound with a strat (that kind of "shimmer" in the heights - listening example from vaughan: "taxman" (and many other songs))..?

I couldn't find any soundclips from the bassman from ceriatone, so I was wondering if the 5e3 is the similar, or if not, what are the differences.

thanks,

martin

I'm very curious about the bassman - unfortunately I can't find any soundclips in the net, even not on youtube.

does anybody have any soundclip of this amp? that'd be great.

thanks,

martin
10  British Style / Plexi Lead, Bass, Superlead / some quick questions for plexi50 1987 lead on: March 15, 2008, 09:32:16 AM
hi folks,

I'm new here - I'm a guitarist & composer, I mainly produce instrumental music for film/tv/multimedia. I heard so many good things about ceriatone, the clips of amps I've heard sound fantastic - and well, I'm looking for some amps at the moment (...ok, you may say now that "this moment" may last long... or forever..  Tongue Grin )

I'm mainly a "user" of gear and don't know too much about electronics etc (hence I will buy the amp already wired); so I'm always thankfull for explanations and tips in technical terms.
the amp will be used in the studio only - I don't play live.

however, I'm thinking about to order a plexi 50 1987 lead, and have a couple of questions:

* I own a iso-booth with built-in speaker, 16 ohm. is the plexi50 switchable (4 / 8 / 16 ohm)?

* I own a thd hotplate power soak, 16 ohm. are there any (significant) differences between the master-volume modification and such a power soak? or if I have a power soak I don't need the ppmv (or how's it called) modification anyway?

* which tubes are suggested? are the ones that ceriatone implements in the "complete amps" (already wired) good? or is it suggested to buy them by myself?
I was wondering because they only cost $ 50 (the ones that are included). anyway, if it's suggested to buy them by myself, which models should I choose? I know that some amp parts needs to be adjusted in order to implement new tubes - I can't do that, so it'd be great if I just could plug 'em in and it's done;)

* I will buy the head-chassis locally - but to do so, I need to know the exact dimensions of the amp-chassis, where exactly the holes are, etc.
is there anywhere a layout of that?

* I live in switzerland, and our power supply system is 240 volt. do the amps work with that volt value?

I'm looking forward to your answer - thanks in advance!

martin
