1  Muchless / DC 30 / C-30 Help:: Master Knob does nothing.... on: April 16, 2008, 08:44:08 PM
For the most part all is well with my C-30 head. There are 2 problems, and I'm not sure where to start looking...

The Master knob seems to be not working. It will sometimes engage, but most of the time it is off even when pulled out. It does come on once in a while, but it is very random. It does not come on when I move the knob back and fourth, so it does not sound like something is loose. Its connections are very good. When it does work, it only changes the sound up to about 11:00 My first guess is that the switch is bad. Is there anything else that I should worry about or check?

This is my first amp build, so any help or advice would be great.

Thanks. Anthony
2  Muchless / DC 30 / Tone Selector Switch on: March 29, 2008, 11:53:26 PM

I can not figure out where how to wire these. For the 6 Way Selector, which post will the starting point? For example, which post is "I" and which is "J" ?

Can you tell me which post is the ones to the far right where I have labeled with the green question marks?

3  Muchless / DC 30 / Finishing up my build:: Need Help..... on: March 29, 2008, 11:50:22 PM
This question is regarding A1 and A2. It looks to me that this shielded cable starts with 2 wires then ends up with 3 at the inputs as I marked below. Is this correct, or am I seeing something that isn't there?  I have been studing this for a few days and do not understand what is going on. It only shows 2 wire going to the inputs on the layout.

And as far as the shielded cable: just cut, solider together with an extension wire, and heat wrap?

Thanks for the help. Also wondering: do you just attach the bleed resistor to any one of the capasitors positive and negative ends? And by "probe for DC at several points in the circuit", do you mean just one of the caps that the bleed resistor is attached to? Or other points somewhere in the circuit?

I understand how to make a bleed resistor for de-charging capasitors to avoid shock. But what I need to know is how to use it and also how to test that it is safe. Do you attach the clips to each cap one at a time? And for how long should I leave it to de-charge? Also, how long should I make the leads from the alligator clips? Once that is taken care of, using a DMM how to I properly check each one and at what setting should I use the DMM? If anyone had pics or a link to pics, that would be great. A

Thanks.
6  Muchless / DC 30 / Photos of your build process? on: March 07, 2008, 09:31:34 AM
I'm getting ready to order my DC-30 kit, and was wondering if anyone had photos of their build process. I like to plan ahead since I am pretty new at this. Any help would be great. Thanks.
