And I can totally live without "Presence".

Academically:
Is there a 6V6 option?
Is there a KT## option?
Is there a 6L6 option?
DC powered heating filaments?

Mainly a PPIMV....

But I'm open to suggestions, too.  Grin

FYI:  I have ZERO building skilz.  I have an iron, and the last thing I used it for was cutting plastic!

Just wanting to see what my options are.
Is an express heavy enough for Tool/R.A.T.M./A Perfect Circle/Pearl Jam/Primus....(NOT teh KRUSHING Br00()TALZ!!!!1!!)....or would another amp be more suited to this style of music?

I know that RATM (Tom Morello) used a 2204...but I never felt "tone" was his strong suit.

Can anyone point me to some clips that AREN'T some old guy noodling around? Shocked  I'm old too, but I try not to sound like it. Cool  Anything "modern" would be VERY helpful. Chair Dance

Was also academically wondering about having 2 master volumes.  One "pre" and one "post" Phase Inverter.  Is this possible?

And what should I expect to pay for them?

danke.

I ordered a 5E3 prebuilt chassis a couple of months ago and got a bill from DHL for about $20.00 duty plus a $5.00 service charge from DHL. It was definitely a surprise.

Mind if I ask what country you're in?

A question that should be asked of every amp on the website, imho.

13  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / Re: 5E3 options? on: March 29, 2008, 10:12:32 PM
So if you order multiple amps (chassis only) do they pack them in one box?  Is shipping based on total or individual weight?

Instead of me starting another thread in the Marshall forum...is the 18w TMB EF86 a good candidate for a master volume?  I'm looking for a low wattage tube chassis that can get a good, reasonably low volume, MV distortion and still be low power enough to crank (an 18w with pentode/triode and MV would be nice).

"I thought a SS re-amp is the best?"

And this is what I described. Whether you have one unit that does it all, or use the Hotplate and another amp...same principle ya know.

Then...

ummmmm....yes  Grin

I guess Kerzeck means using the line out from some load box (i.e. Hotplate) and power it with a solid state amp.

ummm....no

http://hoelectronics.com/Product2.php

It's the same thing as the "Ultimate Attenuator".

It's a better sounding relative of the attenuators the OP posted.

While the exact mechanism of operation is a secret, it is believed to be a solid state amp with a maximum amplification ratio of 1/1.
