Very nice demo mate,
Another good example how much this amp can do.
Lovely playing as well.

441  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HRM or non-HRM....which to choose????? on: September 23, 2008, 06:24:49 PM
FYI - if I could get the OD sound Richie Sambora gets out of a Fender Tonemaster on the These Days album I'd be in heaven, but I long since gave up chasing that tone..!!

My two cents here!
If you are using pedals and need Sambora sound OTS is wrong amp to go.
I’ll suggest “Hay What” by Ceriatone but make sure to ask Nick to put in 6L6s instead of EL34s. You’ll LOVE IT!

Thank you so much YourGuitarist,
And Thanks to Nick for such a lovely amp.
443  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: I LOOOOOVE this amp!!! on: September 18, 2008, 04:21:34 PM
I have always needed verb, not here, wanted a sweet and responsive clean and solo side at reasonable volume or beyond, yep this does it, I added a delay througha kleinulator and was blown away. Super responsive, sweet, easy, open and huge! I have owned way too many amps and have to say I am rewally impressed! Thanks Nik!

Hey John!
Nice to see you on this forum my man.
Welcome to OTS world. You love this amp now but believe me you’ll be obsessed and addicted to it while time goes. It will get smoother and sweeter.
I wish women were the same way!    Tongue Grin

Interesting setup Cinstan. I guess that small box is something akin to a Kleinulator? I'm in the process of putting together something very similar, a G# and a BBE
Are you referring to the G Major, like this unit?

How do you like it as apposed to stomp boxes?

Probably the BEST (compact and comparably cheap) solution for the OTS. It can switch channels, has great EQ, noise gate and other effects. It can be controlled via  Gminor footswitch  which also works as a tuner and so on.
Also with G major you DO NOT NEED klein/dumbleator! You can adjust everything with IN and OUT controls on G major.

Lovely cabinet and great idea to put together head and outboard stuff. Everything is connected, compact and ready to go. Well done Sir.!

Hi Mitch,

I’m happy you like a VC50, I’ve just increased a coupling cap’s values on preamp valves and increased a mid pot capacitor for more “Dumbly” sound.
People really dislike the Crates, but some of their models were incredible amps. I still have Blue Voodoo 50 head which I modified long time ago and it nails SRV tone as well as Robbe’s tone. I love this amp, even smell of it!
Cheers

If you are short of space I can take some of the stuff Wink
449  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: question about noise floor on the OTS on: September 12, 2008, 02:50:07 PM
jgamble,
My amp has only normal input! and volume on 5 and master on 5 it is VERY quiet. If you put them on 10 amp obviously will produce some noise.
I also use T.C. Electronic G major in the loop and it’s noise gate is always on! so my amp is really dead quiet (and noise gate DOES NOT affect the tone, feel or playability!!!).
Cheers
450  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: question about noise floor on the OTS on: September 12, 2008, 01:07:21 PM
Hi,
If you are using FET input, you will have “white” noise – it is transistor hum.
On normal channel hum must be almost unnoticeable.
When you plug in to the NORMAL input, FET is automatically disconnected. But if there is some factory  soldering mistake and FET does not disconnect you will have a hum.
Hope this helps.
