Have you grounded the ground bus over the pots? Possibly you have but its too easy to forget. Must be an obvious grounding issue....

Have you tried to reverse the OT primaries? In my kit the colors of the wires were mixed compared to the layout. Check all the groundings. Have you connected the ground bus (over the pots) to ground? No, there should not be that difference between jazz & rock, just difference in eq. Check your layout and values! Just hard work..check & check & check and....

When I try the same on the Overtones overdrive channel (not PAB engaged) the sound is to muddy . And the clean channel is much too clean.... How do you use it - chords / solo?

I assembled my Overtone kit recently. Great stuff. Everything was in the package ok. As a tip for you strat players this is what I did: - Removed the 15pf cap on the master volume. - Changed middle pot to 100k (add 180k cross the pot) and change middle cap 0.01u to 0.05u. - Increase 270pf snubber caps on OD to 330pf. - Remove 270pf/220k filter at the loop. This is bypassed with anything (or a patchcable) in the loop. But connected it really ruins the tone. Now I have an awsome amp Smooth dist and a great tone. Good luck! Håkan, sweden

Hi! Just a notification for you Overtone DIY Kit builders: Beware of the phase of the OT primaries. On the layout these were changed, but on the photos they were right. If you connect those wrong (as I did ) there will be a lovely feedback.

My build is getting closer to "ready". Just puzzled about the layout: The 220K/270pF in parallel at the pre amp in / out is shorted with a jumper. Both in the layout schema and seems so in the pictures. But then the resistor and cap is shorted and not in use! Have I misunderstood something??

Hi! I'm waiting for my Overtone Kit (its at the Swedish customs, they will rob me some $ ) I was thinking about the effect loop on the Overtone, its kinda simple unbuffered, and many people use a buffered loop with it. I am going to use my Skrydstrup Line mixer together with a rack effect. Have I use for a buffered loop when a use a line level mixer? Can I just put it in the Overtone loop? Thanks for answers, and a Happy New Gear
