What value would you suggest for inbetween?

Anyone?  Embarrassed

NFB Loop switch - Good idea
Slope resistor toggle switch - I wouldn't. You're messing with DC plate voltage.
Half power switch - IMO, not worth it. On a 50W all you can do is switch from Pentode to Triode mode. Doesn't lower volume appreciably and messes with tone. Get to know the Master Volume or get a C-Lator

Hmm, I saw that others liked to change the slope resistor to 68k or 180k and it seems to work well for them. So would a toggle switch really be bad, and in what way?

Anyone? Or are the basics covered with that?
5  Ceriatone / Overtone / Mod Suggestions on: July 25, 2014, 08:24:21 PM
Hey, I'm ordering an OTS 50W Special and was wondering which mods to get...

The following I already thought about:
-NFB Loop on/off switch
-3-way toggle switch for slope resistor
-1/2 power switch

What else should I consider?

Thanks!
6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Looking for the guy selling mods on: May 14, 2014, 11:40:26 PM
Some time ago there was a guy selling instruction for mods on the OTS.
I think he was Dutch, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know who it was?
Thanks!

hmm, how did you wire those 12-65s in parallel? i already wired them to be in series, which was quite the hassle with their tiny hooks  Angry
so how would wire them parallel. or whats the trick of wiring 12-65s in general (considering their small hooks)Huh?  Huh?
Here's a chart.
http://www.el34world.com/charts/Charts.htm

Doing them in parallel won't be any harder. What guage wire are you using?

I'm not sure about the gauge, but these are the wires:

also, I just got my Bluesmaster!!! But when  I turned it on, I forgot to put tubes in it  Lips Sealed  Lips Sealed  Sad
The cab was connected. Do you think the amp got any damage (so far it works) ?

thanks!

sorry, forgot to mention... they're 8 ohms
so I could go either way.

Hey,
I ordered a Bluesmaster 100W from Nik and got a 2x12 cab with Celestion G12-65 now.
So my question is if I should wire it in series or parallel? Has any of you guys compared both?

thanks!  Smiley

13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone HRM Bluesmaster: 50W or 100W on: March 19, 2011, 07:13:39 PM

thanks  Smiley
14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone HRM Bluesmaster: 50W or 100W on: March 19, 2011, 03:16:43 PM
so i guess this is all correct?  Huh?
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone HRM Bluesmaster: 50W or 100W on: March 14, 2011, 08:32:52 PM
I am not sure which watt model to get. so i just wanted to know, if the 100W will give me better tone than the 50W at low levels, especially with the c-lator. i live in an apartment, so i think getting the 100W seems kind of crazy, but if the consense is that the 100W also sounds better at bedroom level, then that's the one to get. Is this right?
I also wanted to know if i need a trimmer for the PAB?

thanks
