Don´t worry... my "sources" tell me there´s nothing wrong with the amp.. when the time is right you will have clips and reviews. People might be busy with other things besides music, you know?

Looking forward to hear some clips too... Smiley

I just hope Nik reconsiders his decision about the Overtone.. Sad

Hello.

The forum's been quiet lately..hopefully it will pick up again soon.

For a recent forum.. about Ceriatone amps.. I think the amount of users is pretty good.

Just look at other amp maker´s forums and see how much activity they have..

I hate HC.. 90% of the topics are garbage or pure spam without any interest.. .

TGP is  better but seems to be getting a bit downhill lately..

C´mon B+55... let´s not bring that kind of discussion over here too...

Billy is a deluxe fan... specially on his early years...

The 5E3 has plenty of gain, if compared with the usual fenders. When cranked up it growls and sweats like a pig..... 2 12AX7s will give you a bit more gain than a 12AX7 and a 12Ay7 (presonally I prefer this configuration .)

I have to warn you about one thing though.. the Tweed´s cleans are great... but.. the tweed deluxe begins to get into overdrive territory quite soon and at low volumes... so.. forget about using cleans when playing with a band (unless the amp is micd)..

Good to see you are here too Nik...

Mmmm.. I think I like that name after all... Grin

Overtone.. yes.. seems nice...

I don´t know what that "D" amp is Grin.. wonder what it is..  but I´m sure it´ll be great if you decide to sell it  Cool

Now for a more serious message.... You know that everybody will respect your decision, no matter what it is... but you can guess what is my (and many others) wish...

All the best

Scott,

I do appreciate all the effort you and many others have made on the amp building scene. Really. I am being sincere (and I am user at the Ampgarage forum too). The amount of info there concerning the Trainwrecks and Dumbles is priceless..

I really wished none of this happened... because in my eyes... everybody lost... me (and many others) as a potential buyer of an affordable Dumble clone.... Nik and Ceriatone... and also the Ampgarage forum and people.

I hope all these "sour feelings" can be layed to rest... nobody needs it.

I´ll second what "Weathered" wrote and just add, like the Beatles once sung: "All we need is tone" (mmmmm.. maybe that´s not 100% right.. but anyway you get the point Cheesy )...

Cheers...
103  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: overtone no longer available..for now? on: November 02, 2007, 02:10:38 PM
I do think that the worse was at TheGearPAge.

Anyway.. let´s not forget that the person who posted all the pics and info about Dumble #124 did say: "The hand-drawn diagrams and the opportunity for me to take these pictures are courtesy of my good friend Billy, who insisted that this information be shared with all amp enthusiasts without restrictions."  (this is a quote from himself).

And Nik´s Dumble version was not even an exact clone of that amp...

I do understand what you´re saying about a grey area.. but.. all the amp business is "gray" and everybody just copies and clones each other.. and there are many cloners out there that only get praise for their work (which is, also, being sold.. most of the times at insane prices).

It´s interesting to see Ceriatone stirring so much feellings out there.. I have my own opinion about all this Ceriatone hate (and I´m not  a Ceriatone fanboy at all).. but I would rather not share it here. We never know.... anybody can register here.. even those.. and I wish this forum to be kept free from much of the nonsense I´ve been reading on a lot of Internet forums..

I´ve tried a Celestion G12H30 and currently have a Jensen Reissue P12Q.. I know some people don´t like the Jensen reissue.. but I´m quite happy with it...  The G12H30 had a bigger headroom, but it sounded too dark (and the 5E3 is already a bit on the "dark side".. ahhh.. that was interesting to write) Cheesy
