Just fallow  the layout. but  remember to turn your switch all the way counterclockwise and see which terminal lines up. start that one with L then as you turn the switch clockwise the next terminal will be k then J I M N you can have the 2 empty terminals at the beginning or the end just make sure which terminal  you are on.


On the effects loop the shielded wire should have 2 wires inside plus the shielding which you will be grounding to terminal 1 on the volume pot .Look closely at the all the photos sometime you can see the connections.

As for the diodes and cap, that's a new mod indeed. It's to protect the tube recto better.
