Hope you're doing well with your recovery. That was a nasty drop you made.
Excellent explained vid. Even for noobs about this amp it will sure help to get a good picture.
One note: Maybe you can try setting your IN control on the Clator to the max. The compression varies than more with the pick attack and the tone becomes rounder. In addition you can set up your amp brighter if that's your taste.

thanks, It wasn't me in the video (thank God...)
I'll try more settings with the c-lator. I haven't had much playing time. I just wanted to share my first impressions which were positive. As I said in the video, I was a bit sceptical about the improvements which the buffered loops could bring. For example, i never used the kleinulator much, but the clator is something else.
i've been away for a while, mainly due to a biking accident where I hurt my left hand, so I couldn't really play for the past 2-3 months. I received my C-lator last week, so I decided to remove my cast an record a demo video. Initially, it hurt a bit, and the fingers have no strength in them. but in the end I put something together. The video was mean't to show the difference when using the overtone with and without the C-lator. I talk too much so the video is long (18min). Its split into 2 sections (Part 1 & Part 2).
I'd appreciate your feedback here before I post the links anywhere else. thanks
a politically uncorrect tone with the Overtone HRM
Marin, Superb playing and tone, as always..... Did you ever blend the HRM and S and M for a 2 amp tone? I'd be interested to see if they play well together.
thanks Tony. I've never tried. What would be the easiest way to do that?
i didn't know that Dumble was still accepting orders? 14k? is that the price of an ODS?
Better hurry up and get on the list. Fortunately you have the OTS to play while you are waiting for delivery!
i didn't want to order one.... I'm simply curious.
I have a friend (currently on tour in Europe) that is a major player, opening (at various times) for Steve Vai, Clapton, The Allman Bros. Band, B.B. King among others that has been screwed after ordering the D***** ODS. He made the fateful mistake of calling to inquire about when he might receive it. He called 8 months AFTER ordering and paying for it. This is now 15 months later and he still doesn't have it. The D***** company is notorious for this behavior. If you call them to ask about what you paid $14,000 up front for, they put it totally on the back burner evidently, and make sure it's a cold day in hell before you get it.
My friend ended up purchasing 2 Overtone S&M's (just like I did a couple of weeks ago) and he is ecstatic with them. He uses a 4x12 cabinet and says the amps literally screams.

Before you start building let mi tell you couple of very recent developments. 29th of March I was invited to Larry Carlton’s sound check to show him Thunderbox and my OTS. Larry was using Bludodrive 100 w head and Bludodrive 1x12 EV loaded cabinet, both made by Brandon Montgomery. It was really great sounding combination. Only problem for me (not for Larry) was EV’s killing directivity on axis, off axis tone was great. Larry really liked Ceriatone’s tone (congratulations Nik) but it was not powerful enough for him (my amp is 50w only) and he likes 100 watter. I have to admit that Larry did not like Thunderbox for two reasons: 1. I had Celestion Century neo in it and tone was bit OPEN for him. 2. Because of reflections from the top and the beck of the cab, some notes were phzasing.
Larry suggested to cover the top and the back of the cab with 50mm egg crate foam and change the speaker. I’ve replaced the speaker with Jensen Tornado neo100 and covered the cab. It sounds great now but it has to much bass. I’ve realised that port on the bottom was to small or it MUST be on the front side of the speaker compartment. You can have two or three 10 cm diameter ports and if you wish to change the tone you can cover one or two from inside with large plywood circle and screws.
Tone on my thunderbox (I’ve enlarged a bottom hall to 25cm) is so smooth now that I don’t want to go back to 2x12. and it records great too via inner mics.
