Ok - so its rectifier protection. What about the change on the standby switch is that for soft starting the rectifier?
What happened when you installed them diodes backwards? - Just curious.

Hi!
I just noticed that there are changes to the 18w tmb layout on the ceriatone website.
There is an addition of diodes to the rectifier as well as extra resistors and capacitors around the
standby switch - does anybody know why these changes have been made? I built my 18w tmb 6 months ago so I'm wondering if I should add these changes to mine.

well in the end I did the paul ruby buzz fix with two zeners and two diodes and it works great.

Hi
I've built an 18w tmb from a ceriatone kit but with heyboer transformers.
i've been using it at rehersal for the last couple of months and i like it so much that my
VoxAC15 heritage is now up for sale.

I am however finding that running the tmb channel volume control past 9 o clock results in a
nasty harsh fizz. So I keep it at nine and use MV above the tmb input socket to control the amps volume.

Is this normal or is there possibly something wrong?

regards
Taz
