You can take out the MV pot out, and use that hole. I don't exactly know how to bridge the circuit as I had not done that, but it is something I will have to do. The MV still works with the VVR installed, but believe, there is no need of using it (I have not used mine since VVR).  If you do it this way you will find space enough for the board and the mosfet and no need to separate them.

Yes indeed, the output of the VVR goes to the choke and CT on the OT. I'll try to find a picture I took some days ago and post it, so you can see what my buddy did.

I preffer the loop, even when I'm overdriving with pedals... it is kind of clearer to me. ..

The DC30 is a mind changer... you'll never know it is going to be your main amp until you have it...

On the layout, I put a small box indicating VVR to show where in the path should the board go. But we did not mount it there, phisically. We mounted the board near the pilot light front hole (we used that hole as a test, since I did not know if I wanted to take the MV out). Then I realized that MV was not needed anymore.

Since my lamp mount was melted (again!) and have to replace it, we temporally placed the board there, with the mosfet fixed to the "floor" of the chasis. No heat problems there. I have not replaced the light, since I've gigging with some regularity and haven't had the chance. I was thinking to get a led or something that not melt's down!

But anyway, mind that the board does not go there!

Installing VVR is easy, once you understand the layout and the info Dana at Hallamplification gives you. What I posted on this thread was my guide to ask my buddy to do the solder job. VVR is the way to go with this amp. Imagine the tone on the 30watt setting, volume wise tamed.
My dirty channel is not noisy, even at full volume. I use the EX ef86 that Nik supplied. I asked him 2 of them, they work fine  and show no microphonics...

I haven't had that feeling long ago... when I bought my DC30 I barely knew what was Ceriatone. Then I contacted Nik,  and by the time I placed the order, it was like talking to an old time buddy. And then, the amp arrived... you are going to love that thing. Have you considered VVR? ... you can love this amp, and love it, and love it, and love it. But with VVR you can love it even more!

ok. Then go buy some reputable amp and pay some reputable money for what you read on those reputable web sites. Then try to find what is crap and what is not.

My amp took 5 weeks and a little more to get to COSTA RICA. That is, Central America my friend. I, just like you are right now, was eating my fingers after my nails. But it came.  It will get there. don't worry. It was late 2006 when I bought my amp. I am sure distribution channels work a lot better nowdays for Nik.

wow... Come on Nik, when I bought my amp, there was a discrete general knowledge on Ceriatone... I did my research first and found some great comments. That was late 2006! Google Ceriatone now and tell me how many good reffrences can you find!

There is only one specific reason why I have not bought another amp from you, and that is money $$ 

But believe, I won't buy no amps from other place than yours. I have seen people ignoring my advice, and regreting it later.

There is no need on changing what you use right now on your amps. If you are using this parts it's because you already researched and decided this is what is needed. Why change?
A forum board can take as much as people can write. Do this guys know the difference between brands because they all have ears like Eric Jhonson? or because they know stuff just like you do? or just because they read somewere else? I can assure you that 95% of this "gurus" spend more time in front of a computer than playing guitar. Why should we care!

The marketing stuff... well something can be done on that part, but it is not an urgency. If the world stop asking for your amps, worry. Otherwise, keep sending amps, that's the relevant part!

I'm affraid that's the nature of the beast. My amp does the very same. Maybe you want to try some Voltage Regulation to tame the incredible volume this amp's have.
