Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Help identifying mods done to my OT

Thanks for the suggestions everyone - will poke around (gasp) when I get a free mo....
Forgot to mention that the previous owner said that they were trying to make the amp a little more "pedal friendly"....what ever that means.....
Bluesfendermanblues......couldn't agree with you more! That's one of the reasons I'm trying to ascertain what's there now, and how it can be tweaked slightly - but of course in the right way - no desire here to change much, just the small things.....
Will let ya'll know how I go.....

Tw Clones / Expression / Yellow Jackets in Express = Liverpull?
|
on: September 22, 2009, 09:27:54 PM

Ya'll
Trying to decide whether to get an Expression or Liverpull.
Seems to me that I should get the Expression as I can always bung some yellow jackets in there to convert it to EL84 to get more of that tone.
Anyone tried this? Are the tubes the only difference between the two, or are there major component variations?

Ceriatone / Overtone / Help identifying mods done to my OT
|
on: September 21, 2009, 09:53:13 PM

Picked up a CT OT a while back. I understand the previous owner modded it to make it more "pedal friendly".
There was a note with the amp reading:
"Change 150k slope resister to 100k, change the .002mf treble cap to 1000pf or 500pf, master volume 47p solder cap across two legs going to ground"
Would someone perhaps be so kind as to mark where these should be on the circuit layout so I can work out whether they've been done or not?
Also, what would each above mod acheive?
Thanks in advance!

Ceriatone / Overtone / Installing HRM OD Trimpots in an OT
|

Right
Love my OT, especially the clean. OD is a little dark for my liking....
Is it possible to add trim pots to the OD channel as per the HRM model - simple bass/mid treb - without affecting any of the clean chanel tone? If so, how is it best to go about this - it looks like these are mounted on their own board - perhaps get it from Nick?
Cheers

Muchless / DC 30 / Increase in noise when MV disengaged?
|
on: January 01, 2009, 02:41:29 AM

Hi all,
Just got my Dizzy 30, built by Nik.
Is it normal to get an increase in noise when disengaging the master volume - even when the volume of the amp stays the same?
Probably won't be an issue because i'm likely to play with the MV, but just wondering.
Cheers
