Any chance you would have a Combo cab?
2  Website, Store / Suggestions / Re: Fender AB763 Vibroverb - Vote Now.... on: March 31, 2009, 01:28:50 AM
Another vote here for the AB763!  There's a hole in the lineup!
3  Website, Store / General / Ceriatone OTS values going up on eBay... on: March 15, 2009, 10:36:07 PM
I have been watching the OTS sales on eBay the last few months... outside of the occasional buyitnow from the impatient seller, these things have been pricing as high or higher than new...

One just sold for $1500 yesterday!

Heck, I bought 1 a few months ago, an S& M version, for around 1000... it was all it was said to be... then I was able to buy a more current OTS for 1050, preferred it, and was able to quickly sell the S &M for 1275...

Looks like I should have held it.

Agreed- I have been playing around a lot with differing the setup, 2 X10, 4X 10, 1 X 12, 2 X12... like the 4 X 10 best, but probably because I also like the speakers best.

Thanks for the information...

The aluminum tape works well, but you must be sure that the FRONT of it is in contact with the chassis and adjoining strips, as the back of it is not conductive.
6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone Special vs Overtone Special S&M on: March 07, 2009, 07:41:50 PM
I actually have both the S & M and currentish OTS... I would agree that the S & M is a little more harsh, but not by much. Another thing I did notice... the S & M is 2.5 lbs heavier! Same cab, both made by Ceriatone...

Is there math that can prove the lowest to highest configs in terms of moving air(loudness)?
8  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / Re: What do I have here? Newb content... on: December 11, 2008, 07:06:23 AM
Thanks again! Yes, I do have a 12AY7 in V1. When it came to me, the guy did have a 12AX7 there, and it was way too hot.

I tried an AU7, too weak sounding. I guess I am just trying to turn this into a grab and go that I can use at jams- it is so lightweight, much easier to transport than my Vic Bassman.

Thanks

Excellent answer, thanks. I am trying to get just a bit more clean volume out of it- it seems to be almost full out from about 1.5 to 2 when I jumper the channels.

Thanks for the 34 vs 84, that was an assumption that the octals would all work fine.

I am new to Ceriatone amps, just picked up a 5E3 used. Very nice, after putting the correct tubes in...

Question- I see the posts here about using 6L6 and the need for bigger iron. I wonder if this one already has it?

It has a Mercury Mag Tone Clone FTDP PT http://www.mercurymagnetics.com/images/transformers/schematics/PT/FTDP.pdf

 and a FTDO-59 OT http://www.mercurymagnetics.com/images/transformers/schematics/OT/FTDO-59.pdf

The OT says it will take 6L6, 6V6 and EL34?

I know that some other mod needs to be added, not sure how to tell if this is in place...
