I'm not looking for THAT much...lol.  Actually, when I come to think of it the amp used to have the headroom two years ago.  It's gotta be the filter caps.

You're dead on about the filter caps.  I was told they need replacing and have noticed that the volume and headroom have been gradually decreasing.  That is my first plan of action before I buy another amp anyway (have the Marshall tuned up and put in my NOS Mullards).

After your post I'm definetly going to put my $$ back into the Marshall and decide if another amp is even needed.  Right now it's just wanted.

I currently own a '73 JMP 50 watt Marshall.  It's a great sounding amp but it lacks headroom, IMO.

For Nick's price, I think the Trainwreck may be a more versatile amp in that I can play the cleans and crank up to screaming with a little more consistency.  How does this amp react to a Tube Screamer?  Also, is this a 50watt amp?  How does it sound compared to the old metal faced Marshalls?

Any input is greatly appreciated.
