Simple question - if I were to get the 1987 with the optional interrupt loop, can a typical effects rack be placed in this loop as-is? 

Many rack effect units offer options on input signal, such as +4db (line level) vs -20db (instrument level).

Or do I need some additional device to buffer/boost the signal going in+out of the interrupt loop to the effects rack?
