Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Which reverb pedal for OTS???

TC Electronics G-Major, it's got everything in it and sounds stellar. I have also just recently learned that Hermida is making a reverb pedal now for only 99 bucks. Sound clips are excellent that I have heard, but that's about all I know. I'm sure it has to be digital at that price. Worth looking into as well.

Nik at Ceriatone can usually get you one inside of a week if you pay the airfreight, comes to something like $186 for DHL shipping to USA.

Marin, you are a lucky fella. Since the HRM is supposed to be a bit more for the "rock" crowd, could you appease us with some classic rock type riffs, just for fun? I'd like to hear what the amp can do beyond the typical Robben/Larry genre. VH, Zep, Cream....rip it up brother.

You could flip your amp back facing your audience and put a big mirror in front of it. Seriously though....ask Nik at Ceriatone....you never know.

It makes a difference with or without using effects. Definitely adds more punch to the circuit, and as many have said, a "3-d" tone to single line notes. You will definitely want it to tame the output of the loop (it's pretty hot) so you won't clip your effects into distortion. Smooths out highs a bit, but also has 2 bright switches between send/receive and between receive/recovery. I think it's needed and worth it to make the amp even better.

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Does the OTS have a 'break in' period

Yes the amp has break in time, absolutely. Yes, your ears need to adjust as well. This amp is a Maserati. It will feel odd and relentless at first, but you will soon start to feel it hugging the curves and become one with it's tenacity as it slays all the amps you compare it to. Then you will look in your wallet and realize you bought a Maserati for the price of a Hyundai.... In other words........

I know a guy that can hook you up within a week with a brand new Overtone Special if you are interested. Shoot me an email. He is ordering in the kits, having them built by pro (Certified by Ceriatone) shops here in the good old U.S.A., and selling them for a very good price.
On that note, keep in mind that you will definitely have to "dial in" the amp, it WILL NOT sound like those clips right out of the box. Primarily, finding the sweet spot on the internal trim pot for your playing style and attack, for V2 is very important.
And since this amp is built so well with such great fidelity, you will find that it is very easy to hear the difference of quality in preamp tubes. I think I have found a special combination of the right preamp tubes and the internal pot setting for best tone from this amp.
Also, you might want to get that Kleinulator ordered for the loop, it really does make a HUGE difference and worth every penny.

I have to agree. I have been tweaking mine for a couple of weeks now, and have found that 8:30-9:00 position, or easier yet, just above being "off" on the internal trim pot, is really where the o.d. channel shines. There is still plenty of gain to be had if you want it, but this "barely on" setting gives you the smoothest o.d., and more variations in tone from all the gain stages. I can't stress enough how much the preamp tubes make a difference in a high quality amp like this. This is truly an "audiophile" quality build, and subtle changes in the circuit will be heard if you have good ears and really pay attention to what kind of response you get from variations of just the tubes. It's worth it, and you will find your tone if you take your time.
