1  Ceriatone / Overtone / suddenly have harsh 'distortion' on clean and od channels, any suggestions? on: November 04, 2010, 01:50:43 PM
Hi guys,   i haven't used the amp for a month and when i turned it back on i found that i have an unpleasant harsh sound which is present on both channels.  i have changed the preamp tubes which did not make it go away.  it is like distortion but  seems to show a very short decay when you play the strings.  sorry if this isn't clear but i doing my best.  Can anyone suggest what has gone wrong?  BTW it absolutely is not me being unable to tweak my amp it is a problem !!!! thanks, laurie
2  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Anyone using or tried a Clapton Strat through an Overtone? on: June 10, 2010, 04:13:26 AM
i have the Dave Gilmour EMG Strat set up and the mid boost on that really lights up the OTS.  it is a 12Db boost, so the 25Db Clapton boost would be even bigger, laurie
3  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Kleinulator Settings? on: December 24, 2009, 02:28:09 PM
Send 1.0 o'clock
return 5.0 o'clock
and recovery about 9.0 o'clock and up as i run the power amp at 5.0 to warm up the amp. i use the recovery as a volume control and like the sound a lot

6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 2X12 Combo?? on: October 24, 2009, 05:59:24 PM
i put my OTS in a 2X12 cab open backed, and i love it!!   it has the Kleinulator and a TC G Sharp built into the top with the amp.

9  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Build and Mod question on: June 19, 2009, 05:47:55 PM
i did this mod courtesy of Mcinku' s layout and it does give an improved mids response. as i would never have used the FET input this is a good mod and relatively easy to do, too, laurie
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: "Deep" mod on: April 29, 2009, 01:48:54 AM
could you post a wiring diagram as to how you did this?  i would like to keep the bright switch and remove the FET and replace it with the mid boost switch.  regards laurie

12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Kit or prebuilt on: November 27, 2008, 07:44:35 PM
Hi! the last time i built a tube amp from scratch was 30 years ago and i managed to get the OTS right pretty much first time.  i have modded it a bit since then and it has given me immense satisfaction to have built such a fine sounding amp.  i say if you go at it carefully, it is do-able. it is a complex build, the hardest that Ceriatone make, i think [barring its 100 cousin, of course!]  on the other side the cost of having a first class build by Nik is ludicrously cheap; so you pays your money and makes your choice?? laurie
13  Ceriatone / Overtone / rack mount for Kleinulator on: September 13, 2008, 05:32:39 PM
hi guys,
i use a large open backed cab for my Overtone which has space on the top for 3 1U rack units........one has the TC Electronics G Sharp in it and i am wondering if Nik has any desire to build the Kleinulator into a rack unit.   i already have the Kleinulator and love it , but it would be a lot easier to use and transport if it were in rack form.  Any of you know about this???
14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: post your entire rig on: September 08, 2008, 03:35:20 AM
sorry guys, screwed up on the gifs...here is the rig itself, laurie
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: post your entire rig on: September 08, 2008, 03:31:51 AM
 hi,
I use a Steelsound 2X12 unported cab with a Celestion Classic Lead 80 and an Eminence 'The Governor".  The effects rack is aTC Electronics G sharp and i use a KLeinulator.  The pedals are a bypass for the TC, a simple MIDI change pedal and aPeteresen Strobostomp.  i use a home made 12VDC-9VDC convertor to run the MIDI pedal from the live side of the OTS PAB foot switch.  It works ok with rervations.
