I just put together a 1987 Plexi from Ceriatone.  Stock, it was too bright for my taste.  I started making the front end more like the Superbass and found a nice compromise between the 2.  So I would describe the 1987 as just a really bright version of the Superbass, they both have a real similar essence in tone, just a different frequence response.

Hey Roffe, I was using a guitar a friend of mine built.  It's a tele shaped body with a humbucker in the bridge.  It's a Seymour Duncan Distortion pickup.
Here is my modded 1987 Ceriatone with Mercury Magnetics transformers.  The Lynch riffs have a Tubescreamer, the EVH riffs are straight in
