Wow, this is getting way over my head. I think the amp sounds great as it is.

Well, I have nothing about the amp, I'm actually quite interested, there are just a few things I'd like to know. I know somebody else who has just received his amp too, and he says that without anything in the loop it's totally unusable. As you have a DD-3 in the loop, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to take it out of the loop to tell us what the result.
That's not to diss Nik's amp, as the original design is supposed to react like that too...actually that's more to confirm that the original design has been indeed followed faithfully.

Can you try with nothing at all in the loop and tell us how it sounds then ?

Hi mcinku.
Thnaks for your clips, that's useful.
They actually both sound good. I think that I would need to hear a gainier tone to know if the BM HRM suits me or not, yours is barely overdriven here.

I just finished a Bluesmaster kit from Nik.

To answer a post from above, yes it is a bit rawer sounding than an ODS. (I know an industry rep that has 3 real Dumbles) I removed the teble cap across the OD level control on mine to tame a bit of high end harshness.

I'll need to gig with it to make a real critical analysis of how it sounds, but so far so good. Mine is the 100 watter, to the half power switch is a must for small venues. Maybe I'll try the 6V6 option mentioned here.

Bringing that topic back to life...so the Bluesmaster HRM would actually be rawer, some seems to say more harsh, than standard HRM ?
It's not what I understtood from Nik's description on this board, could someone confirm ? I am seriously looking at a 100W HRM Bluesmaster, but if the OD is really on the harsh side, I'm not sure that's what I really need.

I have a 2x12 from them.
I would rate it as alright, especially considering the price. It does the job well, and their service is rather good.

I had the impression that the Bluesmaster should be less refined than a standard OTS, rawer, is that the case ?

Or Eminence Red White and Blues.
12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HRM, very bright amp ? on: March 27, 2009, 10:29:38 AM
Slayerman, are you located in France (I would assume yes, according to the cabinet you are using Smiley  ?
I'd be interested to test the HRM OTS if you are not too far from me...By the way I have a 2x12 loaded with G12-65 , so you could try that with your amp.

I don't know if that's impossible. I know that another manufacturer of D. like amps will include the option to switch from Bluesmaster to Skyliner EQ in a new model, so I just wanted to ask what Nik could offer regarding that.

Nik,
Would it be possible to get a version which would allow to switch from standard HRM to Bluesmaster HRM, all in the same amp ?
