1  Website, Store / Suggestions / Gibson Rare one on: March 17, 2008, 12:09:38 PM
How bout a Gibson 83S, Which was the predessor of the 79RVT Sterero amp?   This is one of Gibsons rarest designs and nothing by Fender could come close to emulating it,  The Vibrato Trem actually gives like a rotating speaker effect with its multiple speaker design and stereo configuration
2  Website, Store / Suggestions / Re: Hiwatt DR504. Seriously. on: March 13, 2008, 06:56:26 PM
I have noticed the glaring lack of Hiwatt kits and reproductions.
The originals are getting to a price point similar to or exceeding Marshall of similar vintage.

Would love to see a DR504

Oh I could definitly get worked up and a bunch of others worked up over a DR504 !

5  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 6v6's in the Overtone? on: March 12, 2008, 12:10:02 AM
I am wondering if Nik could build this for 6V6, maybe using the OT/ PT from a Blackface or 5E3 Deluxe ?
6  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / Re: 5E3 pics on: March 11, 2008, 07:10:56 PM
Both look super sweet. Mckinu, Great touches in design and execution as well
Mine I want to put into a tweed cab I will add a lacquer stain job to, giving it that older vintage look and also protecting the tweed a bit . If you play in clubs and open mic jams though sometimes you gotta remind guys" My amp isnt your drink coaster ! "

Howdy Folks, New to this forum, I have been scoping Ceriatones for bout six months now, The 5E3  was and is one of the first I looked at. Since I primarly play blues and blues based rock, My main guitars are Les Pauls with handwound pickups and vintage wiring with Sprague PIO Caps, Though I have 2 MIJ Squire Strats as well.
My local amp guru helped assemble a 18watt TMB into a cab, and said the tones were so outrageously sweet.
What I wish to attain from Niks 5E3 is some sweet brownsound to some nasty blues overtones at the 7 -15 watt range, as the Blues places I jam at, this is about the volumes acceptable, Suggestions, am I barkin up the wrong tree?

I think you found your tree.

Thanks Mckin I think even if I let Nik assemble the amp, I can get this done for under $750 with a decent speaker and cab from ampcabco, $200 Complete cab  and they are pretty close distance wise as well
8  Community / Gear / Re: So...What other gear do you all have? on: March 11, 2008, 06:02:33 AM
My Guitars  the Amp is a Crate V30, ok please dont snear, it does sound rather well for a  30 watt Class A  two channel amp, and its handy and far more portable than my Seymour Duncan Convertible 100

Fender MIJ Squire, Miss Honey, my Gibson 60 Re issue LP, and Miss Roses, My Orville LP with Marksterbucker PAFs now

As for Gibson Amps, A GA 9 Tweed might be also pretty sweet though I think the 5E3 might cover this territory
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 1/2 power switch on: March 11, 2008, 04:42:31 AM
After reading a few of the posts, a suggestion , instead of a half power switch, a Weber Mini Mass 50 watt attenuator instead.
