1  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: mdv vibe on: March 16, 2015, 08:02:13 PM
Depends if you want the vibe before or after overdrive.
If you put it in the loop it will be AFTER OD.
I personally prefer modulationpedals to be before OD,
so i have it on the floor.
But test for yourself and see what you like..... Wink

I don't know if a C-lator is neccesary or not.

Hi,

As you can see in this picture, you can choose
your output impedance on the back of the  amp....

Tim,
thanks for bringing this up, I've been
planning to do this on my OTS for a very
long time.
This weekend I will, for sure.   Wink

6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Question about matching a tone with a HRM 100 on: November 18, 2011, 05:08:43 PM
Hi
I am new to posting here but I have bought a Ceriatone 100 Plexi and recorded most of my next cd with it. The video post on Facebook at this link can give you a sneak peak as to the tones I got from using that head and a bunch of guitars and pedals to get a variety of tones. I love the amp .......BUT ....
I am wondering if I buy a HRM 100 whether I could come close to some of the tones I got  from the Marshall clone. I understand fully that they are two different beasts. I just want to know if it crosses over remotely, considering I want an amp with an overdrive in it that isn't a marshall type yet can get close if need be.

Check out the video here and if you are an HRM owner please let me know if I can get close. OR if you are another Overtone owner that thinks their type OTS gets the tones I am asking let me know too!

Thanks so much. I realize asking if one amp can sound like another is actually pretty silly but I just don't want to bring too many amps on the road and want a versatile amp with dynamics and yet sustaining natural tube compression to do more than one thing since I play a bunch of styles but can do a close representation of what I have recorded on this coming cd. I only wish I could try the amps out in person to make my own evaluation other than YOUTUBE. So I am requesting your opinions.

KEEP ON ROCKIN & T :)hanks again!!
Joe

Nice playing, Joe!  Smiley
7  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: RG 400 Cables on: October 28, 2011, 07:28:27 PM
From what I've heard from a local tv guy that I know,
the RG-58 cable is nearly the same as RG-400.
I don't know if he's right, but it seems to be a lot
easier to find the RG-58 in stores.
8  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Questions about new FM100 on: October 22, 2011, 11:02:38 PM
Where can I get this RG-400 cable?
9  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: new valves on: July 08, 2011, 07:21:52 PM
I have a new chinese made Golden Dragon 12AX7/ECC83 in V1. (in my 50W OTS)
Best tube I've ever heard, and I've tried a lot different brands.
I tested it in V2 as well, but couldn't hear any sonic difference
to my other tubes.

But, highly recommended in V1  Smiley

Hey Ulf

The NFB Loop is found on V1. It comes out of Pin 6, through a 22M resistor, through a 0.05uF capacitor, and up to the terminal marked B-12, just in front of V1

i attached a pic for ya!

Also, as far as mods go, I added another one today by bypassing the HRM tonestack, thanks to user rogb, who confirmed my suspicion that bypassing the HRM tonestack is very simple. I like it better already. I need to put a switch on it, though so i can switch it in and out. I may even out a three way switch so i can have it bypassed, HRM Bluesmaster style through the 100R resistor, HRM Style straight to ground, to see if there are any sonic differences.
Gregg

Ok, got it!

Thanks for the pic Gregg  Smiley

My Mods are:
Replaced the OT Trannie and choke with Magnetic Components
Lower value slope resistor
Removed NFB on V1
Other mods I have tried and then put back to standard:
Played around with the V2 snubber values
Rewired the OD level to the same as a OTS then put it back to how a HRM is wired

So far the biggest increase in tone came from the OT and Choke.

Can someone please explain where I can find the NFB (resistor, cap?) on my OTS,
and what value it is.
Thanks.
-Ulf

Which particular OTS do you have, Ulf?

I have an regular OTS 50W, lightly modded.

14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Has anyone moved the internal gain pot to the outside? on: September 04, 2010, 08:33:12 PM
Why drill a hole? There should be 2 open holes where the half power switch hole is located, you shouldn't have to drill anything.

Its not my amp so I have no idea whats on the back.  I'm just the tech doing the work.  :-)
Hopefully there is a hole already there.

I think you will have to drill the hole just slightly bigger to get the pot to fit.
That's what I had to do when I moved the od to the back of the amp.
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Presence=more attack? on: January 14, 2010, 11:49:16 PM
You need a 15p-40p bright cap on you master volume. Scott Lerner (Dogears) have made many opsts regarding this on ampgarage.

How many volts should the cap have.....?
