Hey man, I am not the one to advise you what to choose, but I can tell you about my choice. I am a fan of Clapton, Gary Moore, Santana, Eric Johnson and on top of that I play music from the 60´s, sometimes mixed up with a slight portion of rockabilly and of course some bluesinfluenses. Did I mention the Beatles , and Stones ? Anyhow, I was i the same choicefrustration as i believe you are , and I finally decided for a Bandmaster. I ordered a complete ampchassie, built by Ceriatone. To that I purchased a tweedcabinet from Germany (TAD) and three Jensen P10R. That together gave me a historically correct Bandmasterclone. The effekt on the amp is "only" 25 watts, but I can assure you theese watts are "big ones" The tone from this amp is clean, in a vintageway. Not comparable with more modern fenderamps, maybe due to the absence of a built-in reverb. It takes pedals in the most fantastic way I ever experienced before. I doubt that you can get distorsion without a added pedal , but on the other hand I have never tried. I run it together with T.C.Electronics Nova system connected between the guitar and the guitarinput on the amp. With that equipment I got all the sound I have been looking for during many years. All of a sudden I have everything I need. My band , that have followed my search for "the perfect sound" during a number of years , have now told me - " You are never allowed to sell that amp...." It looks nice too, in my opinion. I have also created my own "sign" on the amp, since I did not want to put a Fendersign on there as I have seen many cloneowners do. It is a ceriatone , and I am proud of that , thus it should be seen. Even on the inside I have on "Fendermaner" put a little note stating what tubes in which position and who manufactured the amp. That is the reasons for my choice ! Hope you can recognize yourself in some parts ! All The best // Len

did ceriatone sell the cab?
No they did not. This was done , not by me unfortunately, by the Tubeamp Doctor (TAD) in Germany, and bought from them. A friend of mine , with very little assistance from me, started to make our own cab, but halfway through the project we realized that we did not have the correct drawings/measurement to build from. At that time, the amp had arrived from Malaysia, so the solution was to buy a cabinet. I found TAD being the best available supplier for me. I am sure there are others , but this is what I found and I´m happy for it. Now I have the most awesome Bandmaster by Ceriatone ! It performs beatifully and I run it with a T.C.Electronics Nova system hooked up between the guitar and the amp. That gives me all the sounds needed , and what sounds !! // Len

Wow!!! Looks like somebody did a nice job with the Tweed. And a real Pine cabinet also. What brand power tubes are those?
Thank you !! The intention was to build a "historical correct" Bandmastercloone as far as possible. That called for Pinecabinet, Jensen P10R, laccquered tweed . I intended to use three old Celestione 30 w 10" speakers, but it turned out that the magnet on them was too Wide. Therefore I had to go for the Jensen P10R. like the original had. And as one can see on one of the pics , there is not much room between the ampchassie and the speakermagnet. The power tubes are Tungsol, that came with the amp. And they are good ! In general I have the impression that the tubes and the components are very good quality from NIK. I have compared with a kit from Weber, also 5E7, and mine is by far better sounding ! Here it is, My Bandmaster ready and tested. The test gave me maximum satisfaction. The cleanest ever possible vintagesound came out from the three Jensen P10R. That gives me the ultimate possibillity to colour the sound the way I want with effects. I use TC Electronics Nova system in front of the amp. Simple as that , no loop , no nothing . The effect between thr guitar and the amp. ready ! The sound ? Fantastic ! Since I start with a very clean vintage sound, and my effect doesn´t coulour the sound wiythout any effects engaged, I am more than happy over my new sound. I have had as many different amps as people have shirts (almost ), but now I beleive I am "at home" soundwise. Here it is anyway: The sign on the front I have done with Fender Bandmaster in mind, but I have not copied it. I just wanted an association to it. It says - Bandmaster by Ceriatone-. And on the inside , I have like Fender normally do , put a small note with the tubeconfiguration and there as well - "Manufacured by Ceriatone". I am very happy with my new amp, can you understand that ?? All the best and happy "ceriatoning" , to all of you // Len

Well, Here it is , my new Bandmaster. It is a fantastic amp to play , even att full power. It is quiet and hav a amazingly good, vintage sound. It is , of course, equipped with 3x Jensen Alnico P10R. The sign on the fron I have designed and made myself. Of course I did not want a Fender sign , since it unfortunately not is a Fender. Therefor I had a sign made where it says - " Bandmaster by Ceriatone". I am very happy about my new amp, and my band really loves it after only one session ! Here are a few pictures : Yes I even put a small sign with the tubeconfiguration and "Made By Ceriatone " on the inside on Fender maner. That´s my beauty, how about her ?? All the best Len

I have one, completely assembeled by Ceriatone. The cabinet will show up tomorrow , then I will put them together with 3x 10" Celestion from abt 1965. So far the only problem has been that Ceriatone did not connect the 4 Ohms tap from the OT, but the 8 - and 16 Ohm. Nik said it was due to the fact that on the comboversion there was not room for a threeway selector. 3x8 Ohms speakers in parallell gives you a resistance that the amp "can see" of abt 2,67 Ohm. Therefore one need the 4 ohms tap connected. Again, since the original Fender from 1955 had 3x 8 Ohms speakes connected in parallell, one would want that. At least I do. I have made the modification so that I have only connected 4 Ohms and 8 Ohms. Easily done, but in a country like sweden I had to pay som 160 USD( ! ) to have it done (Yes Sweden is a expensive country), since I am not able to do it myself. That was a waist of money for me. Never the less, I have discussed the matter with Nik , and I sincerely hope that it will be correct on future complete comboamps. Another small detail - one have to add a tiny little angeled bracket on the big tranny, to help carry the weight when assembeled to the cabinet. I have found some old pictures on an original 1955 unit that I have as a rawmodel. I have tested to play it as it is , and it sounds promising , thats for sure. I will add som more pictures when the cabinet has arrived..... All the best // Len Could anyone explain how to insert a picture ?

Well, I haven´t got any Ceriatone......... yet. I am waiting for a Bandmaster , that will be fitted in a 3x10 lacquered Tweed combo...... that´ll be nice. For the moment I only have a Marshall 1987 with a 4x12 1960A. This gear I do not like....... I am too much a "Fenderman". The Marshall will have to go, as soon as my ordered VOX AC30CC2X shows up. I have three good Strats, one American Vintage 57, Fieastared, one Eric Johnson signature and one Classic 60´s from Mexico 3c-sunburst. They are all different both to play , but also soundwise. I consider it being a perfact match ! All good things are three ! This one will soon move out...... These will never leave..... // Len

As time goes by, ........... I´m waiting for my "Bandmasterclone" to find it´s way from KL to me in Sweden. A 3x10 Cabinet , tweed of course , is under production.
I am a nearly 60 years old "Rock-starwantedtobe" that never became anything else than a happy amateur !
I Play with the band I had during the sixties, we reunited some years ago, and now we can go for it without any "demand" to be anything. Just having fun, Buying good stuff, like the Ceriatone and other.
Anyhow, I just wanted to pop in and say HI, to everyone.
HI // Len
