Website, Store / Support / Please help me to choose PT and OT for 504OL

Same as in HeyWhat section, maybe here is the better place to ask the following... I am about to purchase the HeyWhat kit but would like to try with transformers built in Europe. Not that I don't trust Nik transformers (I already have the OTS working great), but trying to reduce costs including shipping and VAT, customs... For the Power Transformer: http://www.welter-electronic.de/bauteile/trafos/netztrafo/musiker/sonder_trans.htmtype N 9 F3 Netztrafo mit folgenden Daten: 360-340-52-0-340-360V - 140/140mA - 5V 3A - 6,3V 4,8A Universal Netztrafo N 13 F2+3 Netztrafo mit folgenden Daten: 360-320-53-0-320-360V - 200/200mA - 6,3V 5,8A - 5V 3A or N15 E-BS40 BV.070907MD Netztrafo mit folgenden Daten: 0-320-360V 230mA - 50V 50mA -6,3V 5A. Dieser Netztrafo hat die gleiche Bauform (MD85) wie der original Netztrafo von Echolette® BS40 Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

Hi there!
Same thing happened to me. Turns out my power trannie was blown. I purchased OTS few years ago, probably very early version. Later versions had their PT revised and replaced with better design. I had my PT rebuilt locally.
Sorry for not so good news

I guess I am not going to order much through UPS. Their shipment table is just unbelievable. 15,0 kg to Austria is $202, shipping the same to Slovenia or Croatia is $417. Slovenia is neighboring country to Austria and both are in European Union. DHL on the other hand has the same shipping quote for Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and goes for $352. That's a lot. What happened to EMS, their service was very good and quite affordable?

I guess it wasn't so bad, just exchanging hello's on local familiar language. Hope we won't get punished by Forum Authorities.

It looks like 345-0-345 is fried. But have to check with more precise DMM. And, since the amp is on desk, it's time for mods and tweaks :-) This is a 50watt stock OTS built according to Nik's layout from last year. I guess I will try tweaks you posted in: http://ceriatoneforum.com/index.php?topic=1000.msg7198#msg7198I'll first try with bigger caps on Power stage (mine are still 100uF and on latest Nik's layout is 200uF) then FET will be out and replaced with the Deep switch pre OD pot to the back ...

Thank you all!
This chart is exactly what I needed. On the PT there is a sticker saying 3/12 07 so I guess it's the older one. Only thing that worries me is why it went bad. Must check everything in the amp.. Any suggestions what can/could cause PT goes bad, or it can be just bad PT Anyway,THANKS!!!!

Ceriatone / Overtone / OTS PT gone?
|

Power On amp (on standby) and there goes fuse. Amp was working fine for several months, I assembled it myself. I disconnect all the wiring from PT except PINK (220V) to switch and Black (0) that goes to mains input Power On - fuse burned again. I measured the resistance between taps but not sure what should I expect, transformers are not my cup of tea so to say. Please any knowledge/advice is greatly appreciated, what measured values should I expect between taps (with the transformer disconnected of course), 0's, grounds (E) to to be sure that is something wrong with the PT. Except it's blowing fuse every time :-) One more - I was using Fast blow fuse instead of SLow blow, didn't have any at home, but if the tran is OK that shouldn't matter that much, right?
THANKS!!

Actually I am not to worried about the higher voltage on 6L6, rather interested in what should be measured on V1a..? If my voltage (176-180V) is too low, what can be done about that and is that a problem?
Thanks
