yeh i had the emg DG-20 set. when clean they were just really really clean, like sterile clean if you get me. the neck p/up was real nice and bluesy = shine on, 94 pulse. they're great p/ups no doubt but for a vintage sound they dont have that mojo - too hi-fi i spose as bobgoblin said. depends on your tastes but i would never describe them as sounding bad so i doubt its just the p/ups.
i thought they handled effects really well as well. yeh the mid boost control was great, def gave the p/ups a bit of oomph which they lacked without the boost.
actually still have the full DG-20 set if anyone is interested.

WA cab maker i used for my tweed deluxe: http://www.mccustomcabinets.com/ - great bloke as well. he dropped it off at my house, no extra charge and wired the speaker up for me as i have no idea!!! also a guy called barry marie is in i think NSW or maybe vic yeh i think melbourne. chatted to him about amps for a bit, nice guy again and sent me some pics of his work - looked real nice and unique to. his email was: Barry Marie [ abmarie@optusnet.com.au] when i spoke to him eaely this year at least. good luck with the build tho, but thought id just throw those in there. all this browsing of overtone forum is making me very envious of all you owners haha

wait till you find the sweet spots! although its incredibly easy to use, wont take long of course. i only just really started playing with the channels jumpered so im using the mic channel with a hint of the bright instrument channel and for my setup it really brings out some nice highs. kinda annoying how it shakes my room which kills alot of bass notes but i just gotta find somewhere with better accoustics in the house. Mcinku? wanna elaborate on the tubes statement?! any recomendations?! - this is my first tube amp and im just learning my way through - im quite convinced an overtone is next (or hiwat if Nik moves there) (when my budget allows).

yeh i always approach payment over the internet with trepidation but i can assure you, at least in my experience, paypal is great. soooo easy. you sign up at paypal, put in your details and everything - email is the cog this wheel turns upon my friend. seller sends you an email through paypal requesting money, you click on the link transfer the money (all through paypal, which keeps your credit card details) and since paypal has all your address information this gets sent to the seller.
so easy...and im an idiot!

i remember, when surfing for information about dumbles, i found information that the circuit was originally derived from a fender deluxe. i think what i read was from an interview with the original dumble maker himself but cant accurately remember.
moreover i spoke to an amp maker near me and we talked about dumble circuits and again he mentioned the fact that they were derived from a fender circuit. he said "cleans are nicer, rich" i obviously cant comment on that because i dont have a ODS but if you read the posts around here you'll see Mcinku and some other people commenting on the ODS's likeness to BF fender clean amps.

sweet mother. that tone is heavenly. nice use of delay as well. your not using any other pedals in there are you? in any case how do you find it takes pedals? i read somewhere that dumbles are best used with pedals through some kind of buffer loop or something (im certainly no expert). also how do you guys find the cleans? seeing as though the circuit is derived from clean fender amps i would expect it to compete? big shimmery?!! that OD tone is incredible but i also need some cleans to lay some effects pedals over.
