1  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS Mini 20 vs OTS 50W on: August 05, 2014, 01:05:29 AM
Hi there,  I have OTS 100W. I used to play on stage and home studio, I love this amp and I have something to compare as I also own a Boogie Mark One, a MArk III, a Boogie Caliber + 50 w, Fender Delux Reber Amp 65... Just to say  I love my OTS not like if it was my only one amp but cause it is a real crazy well done. So as I moved from home to a boat.. and palying only on small stages like bars, restaurants and boats, I order a Lunchbox. I have not the 2 amp side by side to compare sound in direct for now, but I can confirm you you cannot be disapointed with Lunchbox. The 20 W seams really under reality. You will probably never be able too crank it up at home. As for the sound I believe the OD chanel is little bit more dirty easely and there is a fantastic OD trim on the back that I have not in the OTS. The clean chanel in my opinion is little bit more clean than my OTS too. So you can change you excellent 50 w for the OTS mini without doubt in your range of use. Regarding the weight and your herny disc issue, I suggest you buy a head and a separate speaker cab as you can take one in each hand and be balanced. The commun head cab is 5 kg and if you DIY you can divid it or ask Nik for a head cab option in carbon for 1 kg eheh... hope that's help !

Hi Nanofree
hey your set up is lookin great! yeah those settings are lookin loud. I've been usin a clator too, so you can control the overall volume from there rather than the amp..... but yeah my neighbours are probably sick of me! Smiley
Ah ok Tom, you have good option with clator, and have good neighbours, but if they are still there, they probablely have a good neighbour player too !
A lot of sound for this new year !

Hi Fabulous,
Thanks for your kindly info. Humm your Vox is a nice baby too !

Yes if one day you want a Delta Pro, try to test it before ! Maybe it will be ok for you as it is so subjectif. But really I don't know how someone with a normal ear can like it.

It is probablely better for bass guitar.

Other way, that speak is a 400 W with pic at 800 W. Maybe it need to be played half power to be good... But my OTS is only 100 W... and at 6 volume and 2 Master, grand ma knock from the ground !

As for tubes, did you test all the others wellknown before Winget C ?

Hello Master Pick ! hello Mr Fabulous,
If my newbie opinion can help ... I confirm that for me too, the EV is really my favourite with my OTS.
I dont know Fane, and was ready to try but no way to get one here.

I already had a EVM in a closed back cab with my Mark 1
I also already had a Celestion 90 in open black.

My wish was to build 2 cab 1x12 and I bought 2 speakers :
1 Delta pro 12 A
1 Commonwealth 12
One cab is already build with my OTS (see the last post on Ceriatone pîcs on forum and please tell me it beautifull !!)

So in the first cab I put the Delta Pro. I rode everywhere, that this speaker is supposed to be a perfect replacement for the EVM, just cheaper. After about 50 hours "rodage" never got something looking like my old EVM, really not.
Sometime I exange the 2 cab and it is night and day.
I finished by change the Delta Pro with the Connonwealth witch was waiting for the second cab.
That one is supposed to give the same tone than the JBL E 120. For justice, I don't have a JBL E 120 to compare but the tone is much better than Delta Pro, and begin to restitue harmonics on all fréquencies. But, the Celestion is more rich and ... the EV is defititively far away  first with incomparable richesse in all spectrum, real treeble, real médiums, real bass. I would say, for my preference, especialy for clear sound.
Foor OD sound, I like to off some treeble. Ouuf ! I you undersood my Enghish guys, BRAVO ! Cool
Hey doc, please let me know when you will sale some left fingers... Grin

8  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Manual on: March 12, 2010, 12:07:35 AM
Hi guys !
Not sure this topic has been move anywhere ?
As newbie and just got my 100W OTS, the ic-racer post was very helpfull, and the manual is a rich idea !
Here is a contribution by translate for other Frenchies. Most is comming from is-racer.
My opinion on a technical chapter for tweak and build should be a separate manual as a lot of people just want to know a starting use.
Thanks

I will check by rhis way.
Do you did it ?
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / OTS Fan Ventilation on: March 09, 2010, 12:34:45 AM
Hello everybody !

Is there someone already install a Fan in OTS head ?

Is there any low tension like 10 or 12 Volts anywhere in the chassis ?
Then it should be easy to drive a 12 V or 24 V fan.

Thanks and don't stop to play !

11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: New speaker for OTS 100 on: March 07, 2010, 08:21:13 PM
Bonjour les gars !

Let me first thanks all you two, and all others for this unbelieving forum ! (Also, sorry for my English..)
I am a newbie (from far countries) and I find so much info on it, very nice comunauty.
I hope I will be able to give something back one day.

Well I did not find the Emi Kappa Pro on Eminence web site on 12" and 15" pages, is it discontinued model ?

My OTS head cab is near finished, so I pluged it without waiting corners, grill cloth and feet...  for sure.

For the time I puged it in my old 1x 12 EMV closed back Mesa cab witch I usely use with my Mark 1.

Messieurs, surprise !!  I was unable to find so a rich sound that with Mark 1.

I understand I am a real newbie with OTS too... so I tried settings Doc gave on other post.
Also Nik gave me some close "start settings".

Realy not bad but if I plug back the Mark 1 The sound is round, very very warm and very rich especialy in the meddles and bass.

If you know Mark 1, do you thing the OTS will never give so warm, or have I a very very long way to go..... Huh?

Doc, as you, I learnt to apreciate the closed back, since I have my EMV Mesa Cab !
Fenderman, do you found same coloration between Delta lite and EV12L or Kappa Pro ? In such a case it is good to win 5 kg !
12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: difference overtone and overtone special on: March 07, 2010, 03:05:23 AM
This is basically what Nik told me when I was trying to decide which to get (The OTS or the OTS S&M).

The OTS S&M is "wild" compared to the OTS. It has more sustain/gain and feeds back easier than the OTS.

I've only heard them, haven't played mine yet (it's on order) but I ordered the S&M for the extra sustain and feedback.

He also said the clean channel was the same in both.

Hope so!

Hi roadapple, thanks for your post.
You surely got your OTS S&M since April 09  !
What is your opinion now about sustain and feedback .
Had you chance to compare with OTS non S&M ?
Thanks !

13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: New speaker for OTS 100 on: March 05, 2010, 12:05:19 PM
I forgot the question.... Have you an opinion about these 2 speaks ?
The Commonwealth is supposed to  have the JBL E120 tone, and the Delta Pro 12 supposed to be good to replace a EMV 12L.
thanks !
14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: New speaker for OTS 100 on: March 05, 2010, 01:54:00 AM
Hi Doc ! Thank for the info, thanks also to fenderman for the interesting history.
Did not found price on the Fane site.
Unfortunately, on my island here, other side of atlantic, the shipping charges probably be too much.
I would be interesting to approch the Altec tone !
I just got my OTS chassis and near ready to order 2 speakers for build 2 cabs.  One commonwealth 12" and one Delta Pro 12" A.
I am working to build something so nice as your Doc !!
