Anybody order a Dizzy lately? Ordered mine about a week ago and I'm just wondering what the lead time is. Don't wanna bug Nik.

Other than the trannies and tubes, would you have to do anything else? I'm amp naive and trying to learn.
For now I'm not changing anything else. I'll see later on if changing something would be a good move. Hmm. Let me know how it goes. I'm gonna put one of these together in the next month or so.

So, did you get an actual light up faceplate? And if so, how did you pull it off? I want one for my lightning.

I think this could be useful for anybody interested in this amp... ...this amp is based on non-verb BFPR (aa964) amp but in fact Prinzetone is not just a clone of this amp. Nik changed tone stack and he used smaller V1a grid stopper and he increased V1 plate resistors (more gain). He also changed the vibro part a little bit, he added NFB pot and bias pot. Tone stack is now closer to Dumble Bluesmaster tonestack... it has more mids and different low end compared to standard BF Fender tone stack. (check the tonestack jpg) I was so intrigued by all this changes that I already ordered my kit.... I plan on using bigger trannies to accommodate 6L6 power tubes for more clean headroom. It's already in the mail... can't wait to get it. Here's the schematics and the freq. curve of the tonestack. Other than the trannies and tubes, would you have to do anything else? I'm amp naive and trying to learn.

Muchless / Lightning / Lightning, um, reverse mod?

This amp sounded phenomenal out of the box, obviously. Nik is a genius and a great guy. Hail Nik! But after doing a little research I was led to believe that I might try undoing the previous mod, that is, replacing the 4.7K resistor coming off the filter caps with a 22K, and replacing the 180 pF cap on the master volume with a 10o pF. So, I made those changes, and this amp is there now. I mean, it was close to perfect before. Now, it's there. More clarity and punch. Over the top. Drool.

This place seems kind of dead. I emailed him about 2 weeks ago just to check progress, and he told me that they were a bit behind, but my amp should be completed on time, which is about...now. So, they may just be behind a bit.
